    Check this rack

I doubt it was in a fire...doesn't look burnt anywhere and it smells fine. It looks like the guy left it outside for some time though, the whole backside of the rack is bleached and the inner front side is still brownish.

    Pics of bucks

Micheal gave me an excuse to head out real quick and glass up some bucks and take pictures of em using my dad's cam since he had all of his computer/camera hookups at home while I don't The first picture has 2 bucks in it...the right one is a possible forky/large spike (not done growing so it's hard to tell) and the buck on the left will be a sure 3 pt...still not sure about how big he'll be later on This next picture has 4 bucks in there and they were too far away for me to tell how big they'll be, all I could see were sticks out of their heads, one buck is obvious bout 40 yards infront of that 1/2 chewed up spruce tree, the second buck is underneath the 1/2 chewed up spruce tree and there's 2 more bucks that came out behind a mesquite 30 minutes later, this is the best pic i could get of an obvious deer since they were pretty far out

    Trailcam Suggestion

the 35mm stealth O Cam will cost ya 50-60 dollars, it's pretty good...even the little dove and quails set it off at tanks, only problem is that you have to wait either an hour or a day to get your pictures

    started scouting this weekend

I've been scouting pretty much the whole summer! I crushed my knee so I can't walk but the quad takes me back on roads where I can glass out and check water tanks and such, been putting up trail cams with a bit of success too, can't wait for the cold to roll in
  7. Nice buck, I was able to glass up a buck this AM in all this rain and he had similar growth to this buck, it sucks not being able to know exactly how big they'll be when they harden up!

    Microsheds

    Swarovski Binocs

Looking to get an upgrade from Zeiss Conquest 15's to the Swarovski 15x56's...only problem is I can't personally compare the differences between the new and old SLC so tell me what's the difference? All I know is that the design is different, what about quality?

    Microsheds

what about "who shot the smallest buck?" if anyone wants to talk about that? Here's my smallest, from last year. It was tough hunting and glassed up this buck right up against a tree, he had fairly decent bases and that was all I could see since most of his head was hidden so I decided to take him. It was a tough angle while he was facing towards me, with a solid rest I was able to place my shot right into the base of his neck at 238 yrds, and exited out of his last rib bone, I walked up to him and witnessed a HUGE ground shrinkage but heck i took his nasty genes off the mountain. Game and Fish aged him at 3 1/2 yrs and I wouldn't bother measuring him up

    broadheads for elk?

No one can go wrong with Slick Tricks, never will break unless you hit a rock head on and needs very little sharpening , does pretty well holding it's sharpness and the accuracy is so good that we can only shoot 1 or 2 arrows at a time...otherwise we'll slice off fletchings

    Summer deer

Well of course I've been chasing deer long before the draw came out, I knew my old man was going to get an Oct tag....but to my surpise I got another Dec tag in the area. Right now all the bucks I've seen are in the mesquite flats, and the tiny tiny spikes are up in the hills with their mom still. Does anyone notice that the bucks are not up in the mountains/hills during late june to july? I have trail cams up in the mountain tops in saddles and such and all I get are does and spikes...nothing close to mature bucks. During the october hunt we should probably expect these deer to be near the flats still.....right? Never done an oct hunt!! Dec tags just happen to fall into our hands the last 4 years!

    5BN archery elk.

Desertbull hit it right on the dot...i could tell you about the sheds that's been picked up from that area this spring but i really wouldn't want to get your hopes up also according to Bull Basin archery shop there was 4 bulls over 400 that was taken out of 5bn archery season last year, you're in for a good hunt

    Summer deer

my good ole pig huntin unit...34B Yeah the older bucks we're finding are in groups of 2's or 3's the young spikes are paired with the hot mom's, i just figured they're in the flats where there's much more grass, tanks, and shade than the hills and mountain tops

    Zeiss 15x45 What's the worth

I got them and paid 700 for them, I use them as my primary glassing setup...love them! They're temporary til i get my 15x56 swarvos, the field of view is small compared to the swarvos but they're much better than the other 15 powered binocs on the market, it's crisp and clear...not the best but they're just right under the swarvos, it'll be worth your money if you want good quality but don't want to pay 1800 for binocs. Also to increase your field of view...twist the eye caps down as much as you can until your eye lids touch the lens, that'll help increase your field of view

    TRAIL CAM PIC

In the past couple of days i've seen up to 15 bucks and none of them have antlers above the ear height just yet so it's possible it's an antler, just infront of the ear?
