I already have a pair of 15's and I told many people about this bino, no one wants to take up the offer, I decided it couldnt hurt to have a second set so I can let a friend or family use it when they are helping me out on my hunt. I went to kelly blue book value and found that my truck is valued at $2,200 so I can't make this purchase, dang it! Have you tried selling this bino set on Ebay? These 15's are going for a pretty high rate there around 2K on average, might want to put this bino on there and start at 1850, you just might sell it fast

I bought my 300 win mag when I was 16 yrs old and I had the same thing as you, kicked like a mule and made it hard for me to shoot accurately without flinching. I got a $40 recoil pad on my 300 win mag and the recoil became the same as a .270, I also shot a buddy's 300 win mag with a muzzle break on it and the recoil was similar between my rifle and his. I'd look into a recoil pad first instead of a muzzle break and save yourself some extra cash so that you can invest more into your vortex scope.

I'm starting to believe that high end binos are like bows, they are all different and some people use them better than others. For example, my dad has the Zeiss 15's and swears by them. He can find any critter through those binos and has a difficult time finding critters through my swaro 15's when he borrows them. IT just comes down to however fits you best. I was with casey when we compared swaros to lieca binos and Casey & Red rabbit was seeing a blue hue through the swaros and more color through lieca while I was uncomfortable with the lieca and thought the swaro showed better viewing than lieca. Go test them both and pick something you are most comfortable with and something that you feel you can sit behind for hours. Good luck, tell us the outcome By the way, those 10x42's you sold to me are still turning up critters and I swear by them now!

there's more bucks around and certainly more does around too. Keep working that area and improve glassing and or glass at different angles. Bucks are always there, we just rarely see them. You saw 2 spikes and a real nice 4x4, certainly that means there's some forkhorns and small 3x3's around. If I were you, stick to that same area and glass from different spots, move around a bit, 3 bucks can't fertilize 35 does

I guess it's hard to say, I live down in Sierra Vista and man there are some quality goats in 34B, and they are up in the juniper/oaks and that unit certainly ain't known to be BC country, quite a few goats over 80 and they seem to top out bout 85. I vote for 10 as well for the best BC just because of the high quananity of goats and the high quality, I took picture of a goat that was atleast 18in tall while I was working for AZGFD, some serious bigguns out there. I guess I am saying it really comes down to how often you scout. Anyone can kill a 100 inch coues buck in any unit in Arizona, it just comes down to your scouting effort. IF I were you I'd put in for 10 for first choice and figure out what unit is known to be 2nd-5th best in the state for BC bucks and have that one as your second choice. Seriously good luck to you!

your ram compensates for all the misses you'll ever get on coues in your life
-
depends when you submitted your apps, I sent my apps in back in early May and check has been processed, if you sent yours in towards the last day, AZGFD has to process thousands of checks so it may take a few weeks

Great ram! Musta felt great being 17 yrs old and to accomplish that. By the way I met you out in the field before, you came around camp after a buddy's dad took a 4x3 coues, you said you were just on the other side of the mtn. Your old name was THOR wasnt it?

Here's a picture of some blisters I got from the work around Seligman, one day it was 104 degrees and I had danners with 200g thinsulate which is too much for that temp!

you are a spoiled SOB, I get to read all of your postings while going to school at U of A, you really really suck Jim, both Perk and I are starting a riot group against you and your spoilings. all crap aside- looks like a great trip, that's a huge striped marlin and the eye looks awesome, never seen anythin with a pupil shaped that way, congrats!

I was an intern back in 07 for AZGFD and got to work with the gunni p dogs and black footed ferret, the job was to mark pdog burrows each meter while following the latitude on the GPS, I think in 5 days each person walked about 40-50 miles, had big ole blisters! The temps was 101-104 during the hottest part of the day. Pronghorns were everywhere as well, great times.

Jim- I agree with you, I had 3 dec tags before I even drew an Oct tag and my biggest bucks are from the early hunts and my best buck is from an October hunt, the temp was almost 90 degrees and it made it easy for me to locate deer under the trees, there was no one around us and we were a good mile and half back in some rough country and that day we saw 8 shooter bucks! You can get big bucks on both dec and october hunts, it's just that the oct hunt you have to tolerate the heat during the day just as you tolerate the cold temps in dec Another benifit of the early hunt is that the bucks stay still when bedded, they are not active due to hot weather so if you find them a mile or two away in the early morning, good chance they will be right there 2 hours later as you get to 300 yards, just like this bad boy
-
the success rate for oct/nov hunts for hunters who spent alot of time scouting and pattering bucks is well in the 80-90% success range for most and 100% for some, alot of big bucks are killed during all hunts mostly the october hunts out of the 3 early hunts, dec hunts typically reduces "bad luck" and competition among other hunters

Last two years I was in those shoes, however they are my smaller bucks. The biggest bucks come when we never see them til the season starts, pretty weird. 2008 Video 2009 no blood trail on this guy

you might want to give Jim White a call, he designs tripod adaptor/tripod accessories and he'll know what you're talking about. You can find him through the coueswhitetail shop off the main webpage

Since 6A has a vast amount of elk, I think game and fish is turning that unit into a profit unit....decrease quality but increase quantitiy, 6a is the most popular unit I believe for beginning elk hunters and for beginners quality does not matter much. Game and Fish chooses to regulate some units for trophy/quality and some units for the quantitiy. I agree with you the quality has gone down, I remember while going to NAU, we glassed up a 350/360 class bull while scouting for coues and at the time that was the biggest bull I've seen in 6a in 4 years of hanging out there.
