Swarovski Optik SLC 15x56 WB with Extras!! NEW
elkhunter replied to visionoutfitters's topic in Classified Ads
Will take one, I am in Sierra vista, I sent you a message for a meeting, it will help save shipping fees, thanks. -
My pops is on the market for a used pair of swaro 15's. I recall alot of them go for sale before tax season begins. If you're selling yours keep me in mind or contact me, thanks!
-
Pops has a Zeiss conquest 15x45, used for about 6 years. Can't find any used ones for sale to start an estimated price range. I see they are roughly 900 new. Say the binos are 100% refurburished and has transferrable lifetime warranty, would you guess $500 value?

Thanks for the input.

Shot a coues buck in that region with a 300wsm, he lived for another 30 minutes til I was able to get another shot
-
Let me know where it is too, I met Brian and worked out with him here in Sierra Vista, he was a very nice guy that drove a sweet corvette. I believe they have a memorial for him at the gym as well, Summit Fitness.

I rather people who have the same tag as me road hunt, I hate to have more people in the hills with me

Thank Gosh I'm a lousy shot!! (UPDATE Trail cam pic added)
elkhunter replied to tommat's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
My first thought was that couesbuckhunter had a trail cam pic of him! Now you got multiple pics of him, congrats! A few people were after this buck, good work! -
This is what you do....wait til there's a hybrid buck with a coues tail, the buck should score in the 130 s when he's 3 or 4 yrs old! Awesome stuff! I worked as a biologist and I know you got more info on hybrids than most state game and fish does!

Are NAP Bloodrunner heads any good? - Here are my test results
elkhunter replied to Viper's topic in Bows, arrows, broadheads
did you use the food scale at a grocery store? ha The great thing about this head is that even if it does not function correctly you will get some cutting done, unlike some other mechanicals out there. Every broadhead has it pros and cons, and this one has it's pro where it still cuts if it malfuctions and it's con is that it takes about 3lb of force to keep blade open. -
Awesome, I am lucky enough to see only 1 fully albino javi in Arizona, he was certainly a juvenile about 10 months old or so and we didnt want to shoot him and hoped to find him as he got bigger but he dissapeared! Bet he was easy to spot for the coyotes! Congrats on once of a lifetime kill!
-
Passed you on I 10 right before vail, you got a sticker that says any tag any time
-
I meant what caliber were you using- not what type predator call. sorry!
-
Awesome! What cal were you using? I glassed up a fox bedded on the oct hunt at 400 yards, I did not even think about shooting it at that distance

This is funny, 99% of the time I would say yes but the weird does happen. My dad shot a buck at 250 yds with 180 grn from 300 wsm, bullet landed about 2 inch behind the shoulder and 5 inch below the spine, the buck rolled down the mtn and layer flat. After 10 minutes of watching him we confirmed he was dead. The buck got up shook his head and walked downhill! We were able to kill hil. Upon opening him up, the shot did no damage to his lungs, very weird, we figured maybe he was breathing out when the bullet hit him? Making him miss the lungs? It was purely a flesh wound at that point. It just depends sometimes, sometimes a hunter scouts very hard and gives a buck a haircut on a shot and sometimes a hunter shoots a buck in the gut and doesn't track the buck down. Ur a hard a$$ if someone worked hard and tracked a buck for days, ur not a hard a$$ when someone shoots a buck in the gut and does not track them down

just tough luck- nothing in the rules/regulations about this type of situation other than whoever put the last bullet in the deer belongs to the person- sucks to hear that

Anytime the temps drop down, expect the young ones to get confused, last I heard coues deer cant read a calendar. I did see a fork horn mount a doe in July before, was a rather chilly evening in july

Ps you will not find these deals on cw.com but on Craig's or at the local ate places
-
If you can wait a few months, they start selling crazy deals on rangers after season is over, several people draw those rare mule and or elk tags, buy a ranger and have no use for it anymore. A friend of mine bought a souped up one for 10k when it was valued at 17k with a 900 cc and had custom suspension, speakers installed and all those accessories, in a few months you can get yourself a steal

Those of you who don't know basser, he has worked very hard in the coues field, every year he does himself better, there's no maximum for this guy!

alot of the bucks are bunched up together in bachelor groups- if you had found 2 bachelor groups the buck to doe ratio would change dramatically. On my hunt in a different southern arizona unit we saw 23 bucks and 8 does.
