So I have a rifle in mind and seems like all small firearm places can't get their hands in it, remington 700 sps in 270 wsm, the only place I can find carrying these rifles are bass pro and cabelas. My question is how long will it take for me to get the gun after paying? I live in Sierra Vista and certainly don't want to stay in Phoenix for 3 days ( that's what I have heard or read in the past) waiting to pick up the rifle, I couldn't find a place in Tucson that has this rifle for 580 bucks or less, not even sportsman warehouse, any advice on making the purchase process faster or anyone know of a gun shop that has this rifle? Thanks.

I agree, no more rule changes for us sportsman, we all have to remember that when the wildlife population declined it was us sportsman that said hey lets do something to bring the population back. Ontop of that we are currently in a 30 year drought where overall rainfall has been below average, that would certainly affect any population and those of you who know these southern units understand that water is not all that available compared to other units in the state. Even now springs that are on topo maps haven't produced a drop of water in the last 10 years, I remember and have pics of swimming in pond size puddles from springs in 34b, heck I was conceived at one of those springs in 1985!

They did lower the tags for this plowing season in 34b. I am highly interested in the fact that a mere mile away there seems to be no issues with mule deer decline, I don't think this kind of information has been brought up to game and fish, I do know that the wardens in those units provide their opinion but overall the commission board makes the final decision in tag numbers etc.

I might add that cattle industry provides additional food supply for the predators which allows them to grow higher than their natural rate as far as population growth goes, that is the primary problem with wolves farther north. As stated earlier this month under a wolf topic, cattle was determined as the main source of problem for natural way of wildlife

Keep in mind that when prey population declines then so does predator population, whitetail a are thriving in all the mulies units and according to scientific studies coues deer are more adapted to arid environments than desert mule deer mostly to surface area to volume ratio, i grew up in 34b and 35a for all my life and coues deer are exploding and mule deer are declining, it may also involve the cattle industry. Keep in mind that the rise and fall of populations occurs naturally wen when game and fish department are highly involved or not, for example- how many coues deer were in 6a 30 years ago compared to now? If coues population increased in 6a then no doubt mt lion and coyote and even bear population increased as well.

Binocular tripod

I also thought it was a device to move the tripod head slowly from left to right! Maybe it's an invention someone can make! -
I say drought, those tanks in the smaller hills are not retaining the water it used to, I grew up smack dab in the middle of 34b and have pics of me on horses walking 4 ft deep into ponds for a drink in nov-dec, now those ponds are home dry by October, they did cut mule deer tags in some of those units, give Aaron miller an email and he can explain the decline to you

Ideas, advice and recommendations on ranger and jumping jack
elkhunter posted a topic in Other Hunting Gear
So my pop and I hunt strictly from a jumping jack and 2 quads. My son is 2 yrs old and rides quads well with me, I am interested in getting the 4 door ranger so I can go hunting as well as take my family. Big problem is that the ranger is a few inches too long for the jumping jack! Any ideas on modifications or recommendations on a 4 seater atv? I am sure someone had this problem and found a solution, thanks. -

Some will call me crazy! --Picture of Mount added.

Seldom drawn- it's all about the hunt and not the score buddy, I always tell my students that there is never anything wrong with reading and doing your best but there is everything wrong with not reading everything, the story was fantastic and the experience alone is greater than you probably will ever experience with a 480 bull since you are so hung up in scores, too bad you can't read a half page and be more concerned with the scores of bulls, I enjoyed the story and am on my way to be in the same hunt in a few years, I will call you up for any advice! Great bul!! -
Arizona terrain is too difficult for them to videotape that's why they don't come here unless they have a crazy camera man

Been a bit more bickering on this website since I joined 10 years ago, must be the fed shutdown making everyone cranky, just remember we are all blessed to have this website and to be able to hunt even if we are hunting rabbits or OTC deer or even going outside to hang trail cams
