Pack the comfty mattress in lol! You could invest in a light weight comfty foam or inflate able mattress, I had a friend that hiked in and slept on hammocks during October hunts and looked comfortable

I never been in the unit during a hunting season however, alot of folks around me have had that tag before. I hear the same things, alot of competition for space and alot of speed racing towards bull elk. I know my buddies usually hunt near roads, under a mile or so and whenever they glass up bulls, there is always someone else that saw them too! Take out maps, identify canyon or hill country that seems to be far from the road and you will reduce competition. You should get some pointers from members of this site easily, it's a big unit and quite a few elk but bulls can and most likely will be concentrated around certain regions. I did have a friend that hunted the pines during the late hunt and was able to harvest a great bull by still walking, a great method to avoid other hunters too.

Just purchased a new scope on here, vortex viper long range 30mm tube with 50mm objective, largest objective lens I have own, what type of ring height should I be looking into for mounting this scope on a remington 700? I see different heights but my rifle gets back next week and can't measure right now
-
Willhunt4food, the scope has a 50 mm objective lense, the tube itself is 30 mm
-
No will not put on a 20 moa rail, never had to shoot far for coues deer! My longest shot on a coues buck was 333 yds. I will wait til both items arrive and get accurate measurements to determine ring height, thank you
-
Would you assume the tikka has the same barrel height as remington?
