Got a new hunter up and running. Made the mistake of letting her use my 15's scouting and during pig season. With her upcoming deer hunt she is looking for a pair. If you have one sitting around ready to sell let me know! Thanks and good luck this season.

Purchased the Costa Reefton with 580G lenses today. They are very comfortable, snug and the clarity is awesome. Tomorrow is a fishing day, looking forward to see how they do!

On the market for new pair of sunglasses. I wear sunglasses 95% of the time I'm outside. I've used Smith, Oakley and Ray Bans (back then when they were good). Will be looking at Costa, Smith, Maui Jim and Native brand this weekend. Costa and Smith seems to be the most interesting with their lifetime warranty. What do you wear and why? Recommendations?

Any Idea of how big??
elkhunter replied to WHT_MTNMAN's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
Hes a very young buck, if he was a straight 3x3 he probably score in the low to mid 90's, but with the extras he would be in the low 100's good genetics! Guessing 3-4 year old buck -

Today my lady was able to get her first big game harvest. Her and I put many days of scouting down and got 3 herds patterned out well. This morning we located the south herd first nearly a mile out, worked our way closer to 180 yards of the herd. Since it was mostly flat with tall grass it took time before we got a shot opportunity. At 164 yards the 223 55 grain Hornady knocked down a pig. Clean pass through as well! After pictures were done and gutting we loaded up the truck and I glassed for another 5 minutes and located the second herd just right before we headed home. She was very excited about this hunt and did well with all the practice shooting and going over scenarios

Taking a chance here- I was out helping pops fill his tag on sunday and glassed up a what I think is a silver ford ranger 2 wd about 10 yards below a road on a steep hill, stuck as stuck can be. At sunup a nissan titan and a dark grey jeep had to double up to pull this truck uphill and back onto the road. I enjoyed watching the process, however I WANT to know how the truck got down there off the road! Was this anyone on CW.com? If it was someone on this site, you gave me entertainment as my pops didn't get a shot off on the herd that morning! Thank you!

hornady sst, got pass through and exit wound was roughly an inch around, pretty happy with the results, went through vertebrae too, as we were skinning the pig the head just fell off haha.

Before the story starts I gotta say a lot of you folks missed out on a great opportunity to help a vet!! So on Thursday I confirmed with Lv2hnt that I would be taking a wounded vet out on a quest to harvest his first big game animal. I got in touch with him and had to explain that I couldn't take him out until my girlfriend harvested a pig. That didn’t take too long --- girlfriend was able to harvest her first big game animal on Friday at 8:23 am! Friday evening came and I spoke with the hunter and I just felt like I wanted more help on the hunt than just me. Called up a few friends and CMC (Chris McCotter) was quick to respond and was ready to go Saturday morning. My high school hunting buddy Jon also said he’d come out to help. Saturday morning couldn’t come soon enough! Right at 5:30 everyone showed up at my house. We all hopped into my truck and met CMC out in the field. It didn’t take long, maybe 10 minutes, and a herd was located by CMC. GPS eventually showed us that the herd was 1.4 miles away, so huge props to CMC! We were able to creep up to 94 yards from the herd and the hunter made a perfect shot and downed his first big game animal! It was a blast and it was great showing him how to gut a critter, skin a critter, and how to bone out a critter. I’m totally looking forward to helping out with AES Hunts for Hero program in the future!
