Unless I am wrong off road travel is illegal so lets be careful when asking for new laws because sometimes you only limit yourself. Those who break the current law will have no problem breaking another. I for one want to keep my right to ride my quad 4 or 5 miles off the highway so I can get somewhere worth hiking.

how old is your boy? My girl is 3 but she is big for her age. I wonder if she could keep up. Maybe next year.

Here are the bucks my dad shot as I grew up hunting coues in Az. He shot these buck when I got young bucks a spike and 2 small 3 points. The buck with the broken main is about 17 inches wide at the break. It would have been about 18 1/2 inches.

Here is the antler next to a rag elk. I wish it was a coues... would be the bigest one ever or close.

A shed I found hunting cow elk last year.

The wolves don’t stand a chance. Awesome!

We are heading out to go shed hunting the weekend of March 18th. Does anyone know if there is snow on Anderson’s mesa east of Flagstaff? I would like to go up there but if there is snow we may go a little lower in elevation. Pics will come after we find some.

Yeah its no coues i will need to take a pic of it with another antler or better yet on my dads mounted 30 inch wide muley. It would score about 95 inches by its self and the mass is elk like. and I found it in 5b

good luck and nice sheds. I wish we would have gotten lucky this past weekend. I need a new spot I guess.

My brother offered me 20 bucks for it when I brought it into camp and I almost laughed at him. I dont swear much but when I saw this near a ceader I couldnt help it.

On the ground where he left it. I wish I would have known more about sheds because I should have looked for the match and I have not had the chance to go back.

It is bamboo but its just a traditional fishing rod not a fly rod.

Here is my first "Mature Buck." I always got the little one of the group, a forky horn or maybe a small 3 point until this past year. Not a monster but I am proud of it. It is now mounted as in my living room on an iron wood plaque with a leather cap and brass tacks.

Here is how I mounted it. I used a piece of iron wood that I cut with an old friend who used to tell me stories of hunting in the old days. An oldtimer to remember.

12 miles or more on our boots and we only found this one nice shed less than 100 yards from camp right after we got there. Only this one shed between 3 of us and we spread out depending on how open or thick the area was. not even any old chalk. we were between showlow and greer at about 7800 ft. Anyone know what we are doing wrong? We were really excited but this trip was a little disapointing for us. Any pointers to get our hopes back up for next weekend or the weekend after?

We went out this past week end and in about 12 miles of hiking we only found 1 elk 6 point shed. Have any pointers on where to go? I don’t expect a location but what elevation? What kind of terrain?

Roads are closed, for now. I looked it up on the forest service web site and they sure are. Thanks for saving me gas. I will have to go somewhere else.
