  13. The Archery Drive roadway will be slurry-sealed this Saturday, June 18, from Carefree Highway at the Game and Fish headquarters, to Skeet Drive of the Clay Target Center. Shooters using the Clay Target Center are advised to enter from the Ben Avery Shooting Facilities Main Range entrance directly west of I-17 during this process. View the full article
  14. There are currently two separate Game and Fish Department public meetings scheduled to take place on Monday, June 20. Although occurring on the same day, these meetings are in different towns, and will discuss two entirely different programs. Hunt guidelines review: A meeting will be held in Prescott from 6-8 p.m. to discuss the draft proposed hunt guidelines.   19. The spring catfish stocking season that includes eight deliveries of fish every other week will end the week of June 27-July 2. With every stocking, 14,000 pounds of 14-18 inch channel catfish are delivered from Arkansas to the 20 Urban Fishing Program waters in the Phoenix and Tucson areas. View the full article

To make up for angling opportunities lost at White Mountains lakes and streams impacted by the current Wallow Fire, the Arizona Game and Fish Department will supplement its stocking rates at select lakes and one stream in the Show Low and Pinetop-Lakeside areas beginning this week with several thousand additional rainbow and Apache trout. The Arizona Game and Fish Department’s Wildlife Emergency Treatment Center will be located at the Eagar Rodeo Grounds beginning on Tuesday, June 14, although the center is able to receive calls now. The Center is located at 7 S. Highway 80 in Eagar and will treat injured wildlife from the Wallow Fire. View the full article

The Arizona Game and Fish Department’s Operation Game Thief (OGT) is offering a reward of up to $1,500 for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for the poaching of a bull elk north of Paulden. Anyone with information regarding this case, or any wildlife violation, should call the OGT hotline at (800) 352-0700.
