What is your load, shoot, and clean procedure for your muzzleloader? There is a alot of cotroversy out there about this. My wife shoots a T/C encore 50 cal. We have tried lots of bullets through this gun and always end up with flyers. Had the trigger redone and the best we can do at 150 yards is 6-8 inch group. Often times with a flyer. We currently use 250 sabot with 2 pryrodex pellets. Are my expectations to high? I am a bowhunter with not much muzzleloader experience. Please help, she is great shot with high expectations of harvesting a nice coues in Unit 27 at the end of the month.

I sure am getting the bug to get out in the woods with my dogs. Anybody with any leads on NM grouse or eastern AZ, would be much appreciated. Good luck this season. gonhntn

I know that it's still many months away but i am wondering if any of you hunt blue grouse in Arizona or NM? I have seen some in the Gila here in NM but it was a long ways in the wilderness. I have heard that there are some in the Big lake area. My dogs and I are getting anxious. Thanks, Gonhntn

NM Blue Grouse hunt. We had a great weekend. This was a tough hunt for us desert dwellers. Hunting at 10,000 feet was brutal. We were able to limit out and each bird was well deserved. It was a great opener for our dogs. Gonhntn

I too picked up a dog from Jim. Rio, formerly called river has been an awsome pup. We have shot many birds over this dog. Jim's dogs appear to be very biddable. At eight moths old we shot Mearns, Gambels and Scaled birds over this dog. He is a natural retriever and a short to medium range dog. Rio is well on his way to being an outstanding partner in he field. Rio is very well mannered and does well around kids. We are very excited about this dog. I would highly recommend purchasing one of these pups and if I did not already have four in my kennels, I'd be buying another. These are sound dogs with good noses and alot of drive. Gonhntn
