CAVE CREEK COMPLEX (116,550 acres; 20% contained) is burning 6 miles NE of Carefree in Tonto National Forest. The fire has entered New River Mountains and Pine Mountain Wilderness, and is also into the Red Creek drainage and the Upper Ranch area. Crews will continue burnout operations east along Bloody Basin Road to the Verde River. The Complex has been split into two zones: Zone 1 managed by Jeff Whitney's Southwest Area Type 1 Incident Management Team and Zone 2 managed by Dan Oltrogge's Southwest Area Type I Incident Management Team who assumed command this morning. Resources assigned: 15 Type 1 crews, 8 Type 2 crews, 12 helicopters, 27 engines, 4 dozers, 4 water tenders, 247 overhead, 3 camp crews, 850 total personnel. A friend of mine sent me a few pictures of some choppers fighting the camp verde complex fire, I can e-mail them to somebody if they can shrink them down and post them.

Right now my youngest brother is my hunting partner, I have three kids that I hope one day will hunt with me, my father passed away a few years ago and until then me, him, and my brothers hunted and fished as much as possible, he was a much better fisherman than hunter, but that never stopped him from taking us hunting.

Did you get the goats after that one, that had to be a haul deboned or not.

Ok now the one north of lake pleasant is starting to look bad, I think they are trying to surround the valley. I hope all these firefighters are ready to buy homes in az, because they are going to be here all summer.

Rembrandt I am at desert mtn. every so often and they had a shed collection there that was mainly picked up from the golf courses and the surrounding area, a few were coues mostly muley but they were all big, I haven't been there in a few months, but if I get back I will try to take some pictures, that fire is north of there so I would think that the deer will benefit, the deer that are around the golf course are well fed but maybe some will move back out of there if the habitat improves. I asked if I could play 18 and carry my bow, but they didn't think it was funny, plus with their membership and green fees it would probably be one of the most expensive deer ever taken in az.

I am in the cave creek/north scottsdale area a lot and just kind of watched tjis thing blow up yesterday. I do think that it helps most wilderness areas in the long run, but I really feel bad for anybody losing property. I also wish these firefighters the best of luck fighting these fires.

The mountain is glowing orange, it looks bad from my house, and I am between lake pleasant and sun city, the desert is so dry right now that I think this is going to get real bad before the monsoons, I am praying for rain.

Does anybody use a bow sling, I have always just carried my bow in hand, now I am seeing these bow slings and thinking they might be worth a try, I know when hunting in az you can get into stuff so thick it is almost impossible to carry anything, if any of you have any info I would appreciate it.

I don't have to deal with a class full of kids that nowadays probably don't listen, nor do I have to worry about getting shot on a daily basis( even though it could happen), and I would bet that for the most part all of us are in that earning bracket or higher. I just think that the jobs mentioned are thankless and the only time they are usually recognized is when they do something wrong.

Three hot shot crews have passed me headed that way.

I am a little closer now and it appears to be north of cavecreek, quite a ways west of bartlett. I also have not heard anything about it, just been watching it from the I-17 & carefree hwy area.

It doesn't surprise me, I have seen several bobcats on the golf courses in scottsdale, and cave creek area, but there have also been deer killed on a couple of the courses, I haven't seen the deer that were killed, but from the description of the prints and what I was told it sure sounds like lions.

The survey was about azgfd and how it is managing wildlife and all sorts of stuff relating to az, land access, residents rights, etc... I thought the link worked, did anyone else get it, or maybe they sent the rest to the governors friends so it would side with them.

I do the money order thing too, but a few bills in there could help out, I know if I was working there me and you would get drawn every year.
