Well the one thing on the positive side right now is that we all still have high hopes about getting drawn, once it happens some of us will have the not drawn syndrome.
-
(Please return on the 1st of August to view results) have you seen this on the azgfd site next to view results, there is also something about changing your credit card info before aug. 1st if there is a problem. This is not looking like it will take place early, but at least they won't have to redo the draw because of uso.
-
Is it still sci-nevada doing it, I had the draw link that asked for a password before the results and then it would work before the azgfd link, but my computer is in the shop.
-
My question is are they even legal to shoot and how far away or how light of a bow was someone shooting to not get a pass through. Its a peta conspiracy to make us look bad.

DesertBull I worked on some equipment a few years ago at Los Angeles Country Club and the place was pointed out to me, the address is 10236 Charing Cross Rd. Los Angeles, 90024. The funny thing was my boss put the directions to it on my work order and told me to make sure and drive by or check it out from the course. Wasn't much going on that early in the morning though.

Back from the honeymoon trip to South Africa!

Thanks for the story and pics, congrats to you and your wife. -
You can still take your quad, the warden would have to go in by foot to get you, and then you could just run from him, isn't that what is going to happen, the lawbreakers will still break the law and the ones that abide by the law will pay the price, plus put up with ticked off game wardens because they have even more to do now. The more I think about this roadless thing the more I am not liking it.

Thanks Doug I had to ask
-
Now I know why you take Casey along, it was either that or buy a mule. Very thorough list, and I hope I don't sound like an idiot , but why the electrical tap in the shooting group.

?Parvo & Ranchers won't be the downfall of the wolf - That I guarantee...? You are absolutely correct in that statement, ranchers gave it their best shot and well now it seems they are hated more than any wolves, and parvo won?t work either because we will vaccinate, or we will replace the ones that die with a fresh new hand raised batch. I don?t mind wolves in the wild, but I have a hard time with what is actually happening here. As far as I know at least the jaguar has came back on its own, the wolf sure didn?t.

Great pictures Doug, when I took the kids up to ashurst last month there was a bull that didn't make it across 17, right across from the meadow.

Have a great day, Good Luck and God Bless.

What is the one thing that you would not leave the vehicle or campsite with, whether you are going hiking, shed hunting, hunting, etc..., not counting gun, bow, water or clothing. What is most important if something happened to help you survive. I figure most would say they wouldn't go without their pack, but what would be the one item you would want.
-
I think a lot of these are great and it is probably something that makes you feel a little more comfortable while outdoors. To those of you that have had trouble or spent the night when not wanting to, when you look back what was most important. I will also say that when it comes to things that I trust the least that I carry when it comes to survival are, flashlights, cell phones, gps, or maybe just any battery powered tool, I carry every single one of them in my pack, but I don't trust them in an emergency, batteries go dead and I carry plenty of spares, but it seems to me that when you need these items they let you down. I would pick a compass over a gps, a lighter or matches over a flashlight, and even though cell phones work better now than ever before batteries and signal are always suspect when outdoors, not to mention that not all of them are waterproof.

Most journalist skew what they are reporting one way or another depending on how they feel about it, it is human nature. Every single journalist out there says that they are just reporting the news/story, but there is always a spin on it, and then we read it or watch it and we decide how we percieve it. Like I said before it really doesn't matter and in the long run it is probably all about money and if it isn't I would love to know why they were released. If the wolves start to starve they will stop hunting in those areas because you are taking away their means for survival, the groups that got them in there know that and will use it as soon as it comes up, and just think the hunters will be the first ones to complain about the hunting not being as good, there aren't as many animals as there used to be, there are to many hunters for such a limited amount of game, cut back the tags to increase the game. Is there any plan in place if the wolves reach a certain number, will the game dept. just keep shooting the extras, what is the max number of wolves allowed, when they reach that number will they give them birth control, I have way more questions than answers and every answer I am looking for can be answered by a scientist or a journalist in any number of ways and they can all be right, they can also be wrong too, and then in the end a politician decides what is best for everyone, and we are all screwed.
-
I wonder why these scientist appear to have differing opinions, could it be that the ones who like wolves are going to skew it in the wolves favor, and the ones who are against the wolves are going to skew it their way, scientist or not they still like to get paid and if we had the right answer it would probably be covered up by both sides. If the perfect plan came out and was flawless all the grant money would stop, then the only money they could get would be from special interest groups that want one side of the story, either side it doesn?t matter as long as they keep getting paid. As far as the parvo goes who freaking cares, we have to pay for the studies, we have to pay for the vaccines, we have to pay for the replacement packs that have to be put into the forests and trained to live like we want them to live, and if they don?t we have to pay to have them shot, and the funniest part about it is that we as hunters probably contribute more money to these wolves than any other group.
-
We got just a few sprinkles today, aside from that there has been none.

AG could you build a shelter or find a natural shelter, just asking. I asked the question and didn't give what I would pick, I would have picked matches or a means to start a fire.
-
I am going to try to attend this meeting ( I am glad they gave us so much time for the meetings ), but now I am interested in what is really going on. I am not saying that there is something going on behind the scenes, but with politicians you never know. I would just like to know what the impacts are and could be, and why there is support from all the special interest groups that are so opposed to hunting, smells fishy.

Here are a few things written about americans, you guys have probably already read them all, but here they are. An American You probably missed it in the rush of news last week, but there was actually a report that someone in Pakistan had published in a newspaper an offer of a reward to anyone who killed an American, any American. So I just thought I would write to let them know what an American is, so they would know when they found one. An American is English, or French, or Italian, Irish, German, Spanish, Polish, Russian or Greek. An American may also be Mexican, African, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Australian, Iranian, Asian, or Arab, or Pakistani, or Afghan. An American may also be a Cherokee, Osage, Blackfoot, Navaho, Apache, or one of the many other tribes known as native Americans. An American is Christian, or he could be Jewish, or Buddhist, or Muslim. In fact, there are more Muslims in America than in Afghanistan. The only difference is that in America they are free to worship as each of them choose. An American is also free to believe in no religion. For that he will answer only to God, not to the government, or to armed thugs claiming to speak for the government and for God. An American is from the most prosperous land in the history of the world. The root of that prosperity can be found in the Declaration of Independence, which recognizes the God given right of each man and woman to the pursuit of happiness. An American is generous. Americans have helped out just about every other nation in the world in their time of need. When Afghanistan was overrun by the Soviet army 20 years ago, Americans came with arms and supplies to enable the people to win back their country. As of the morning of September 11, Americans had given more than any other nation to the poor in Afghanistan. The best products, the best books, the best music, the best food, the best athletes. Americans welcome the best, but they also welcome the least. The national symbol of America welcomes your tired and your poor, the wretched refuse of your teeming shores, the homeless, tempest tossed. These in fact are the people who built America. Some of them were working in the Twin Towers in the morning of September 11, earning a better life for their families. [i've been told that the people in the Towers were from at least 30, and maybe many more, other countries, cultures, and first languages, including those that aided and abetted the terrorists.] So you can try to kill an American if you must. Hitler did. So did General Tojo, and Stalin, and Mao Tse-Tung, and every bloodthirsty tyrant in the history of the world. But, in doing so you would just be killing yourself. Because Americans are not a particular people from a particular place. They are the embodiment of the human spirit of freedom. Everyone who holds to that spirit, everywhere, is an American. So look around you. You may find more Americans in your land than you thought were there. One day they will rise up and overthrow the old, ignorant, tired tyrants that trouble too many lands. Then those lands, too, will join the community of free and prosperous nations. And America will welcome them. By Peter Ferrara ( American ) This Canadian thinks it is time to speak up for the Americans as most generous and possibly the least appreciated people on all the earth. Germany, Japan and, to a lesser extent, Britain and Italy were lifted out of the debris of war by the Americans who poured in billions of dollars and forgave other billions in debts. None of these countries is today paying even the interest on its remaining debts to the United States. When the franc was in danger of collapsing in 1956, it was the Americans who propped it up, and their reward was to be insulted and swindled on the streets of Paris. I was there. I saw it. When distant cities are hit by earthquakes, it is the United States that hurries in to help. This spring, 59 American communities were flattened by tornadoes. Nobody helped. The Marshall Plan and the Truman Policy pumped billions of dollars into discouraged countries. Now newspapers in those countries are writing about the decadent, warmongering Americans. I'd like to see just one of those countries that is gloating over the erosion of the United States Dollar build its own airplane. Does any other country in the world have a plane to equal the Boeing Jumbo Jet, the Lockheed Tristar, or the Douglas DC-10? If so, why don't they fly them? Why do all the International lines except Russia fly American planes? Why does no other land on earth even consider putting a man or woman on the moon? You talk about Japanese technocracy, and you get radios. You talk about German technocracy, and you get automobiles. You talk about American technocracy, and you find men on the moon ? not once, but several times ? and safely home again. You talk about scandals, and the Americans put theirs right in the store window for everybody to look at. Even their draft-dodgers are not pursued and hounded. They are here on our streets, and most of them, unless they are breaking Canadian laws, are getting American dollars from ma and pa at home to spend here. When the railways of France, Germany and India were breaking down through age, it was the American who rebuilt them. When the Pennsylvania Railroad and the New York Central went broke, nobody loaned them an old caboose. Both are still broke. I can name you 5,000 times when the Americans raced to the help of other people in trouble. Can you name me even one time when someone else raced to the Americans in trouble? I don't think there was outside help even during the San Francisco earthquake. Our neighbors have faced it alone, and I'm one Canadian who is damned tired of hearing them get kicked around. They will come out of this thing with their flag high. And when they do, they are entitled to thumb their nose at the lands that are gloating over their present troubles. I hope Canada is not one of those. By George Sinclair ( Canadian ) Editorial from a Romanian newspaper Why are Americans so united? They don't resemble one another even if you paint them! They speak all the languages of the world and form an astonishing mixture of civilizations. Some of them are nearly extinct, others are incompatible with one another, and in matters of religious beliefs, not even God can count how many they are. Still, the American tragedy turned three hundred million people into a hand put on the heart. Nobody rushed to accuse the White House, the army, the secret services that they are only a bunch of losers. Nobody rushed to empty their bank accounts. Nobody rushed on the streets nearby to gape about. The Americans volunteered to donate blood and to give a helping hand. After the first moments of panic, they raised the flag on the smoking ruins, putting on T-shirts, caps and ties in the colours of the national flag. They placed flags on buildings and cars as if in every place and on every car a minister or the president was passing. On every occasion they started singing their traditional song: "God Bless America!". Silent as a rock, I watched the charity concert broadcast on Saturday once, twice, three times, on different tv channels. There were Clint Eastwood, Willie Nelson, Robert de Niro, Julia Roberts, Cassius Clay, Jack Nicholson, Bruce Springsteen, Silvester Stalone, James Wood, and many others whom no film or producers could ever bring together. The American's solidarity spirit turned them into a choir. Actually, choir is not the word. What you could hear was the heavy artillery of the American soul. What neither George W. Bush, nor Bill Clinton, nor Colin Powell could say without facing the risk of stumbling over words and sounds, was being heard in a great and unmistakable way in this charity concert. I don't know how it happened that all this obsessive singing of America didn't sound croaky, nationalist, or ostentatious! It made you green with envy because you weren't able to sing for your country without running the risk of being considered chauvinist, ridiculous, or suspected of who-knows-what mean interests. I watched the live broadcast and the rerun of its rerun for hours listening to the story of the guy who went down one hundred floors with a woman in a wheelchair without knowing who she was, or of the Californian hockey player, who fought with the terrorists and prevented the plane from hitting a target that would have killed other hundreds of thousands of people. How on earth were they able to bow before a fellow human? Imperceptibly, with every word and musical note, the memory of some turned into a modern myth of tragic heroes. And with every phone call, millions and millions of dollars were put in a collection aimed at rewarding not a man or a family, but a spirit which nothing can buy. What on earth can unite the Americans in such a way? Their land? Their galloping history? Their economic power? Money? I tried for hours to find an answer, humming songs and murmuring phrases which risk of sounding like commonplaces. I thought things over, but I reached only one conclusion. Only freedom can work such miracles! By Mr. Cornel Nistorescu ( Romanian )

Casey what kind of truck do you have, and what happened to it, do you need a fan clutch or a clutch for the compressor, before you do any repairs let someone else check it for you. Take muledeerarea33? up on his offer and let him check it out, I would say to do it yourself, but you might be replacing good parts. I wish I could help you out, but I can't get up there anytime soon.

Happy Birthday to all you guys, Good Luck and God Bless.
