    Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday Doug Good Luck and God Bless
  3. Dave I hope your not right, the tags could be sold on ebay for a fortune and if they needed more money they could issue more auction tags and who would oppose that. If all the groups got together and stopped with all the projects and the it would have a little impact, but they would still sell all the tag allotments and maybe even more since there would be no one to oppose them and they could sell however many they wanted. We need more people like you to show up at the meetings, not more people to give up.
  4. We can't ever get to the point when what is done is excepted or allowed every time without say, hunter apathy and ignorance will cause us to lose more and more hunting opportunities every year if we let them. We must choose and fight the battles we can win ,but we must also fight for the ones we can't or every time they throw something at us it will be bigger and harder to fight, we keep all the problems small and seperated and fight every one. How many of us took the survey, did we all take it? I expressed my disappointment in the survey to a member of the azgfd at an ADA meeting I really don't think they care what one person says, we need many to speak and in person at one of their meetings with the commissioners present on how we feel. The way the azgfd treated the ADA survey was laughable, it was dismissed as a non scientific survey that held no real meaning for how the general public felt about the way azgfd manages our wildlife, the problem I have with that is that the last time I checked I am a member of the general public, we all are, what sucks is that the people that show up at the meetings care enough about hunting and az to be there and these are the people that get stepped on by the azgfd. I will fight for what I believe until I am dead so hopefully I have a few years left to at least allow my kids to hunt if they want to. I have the survey questions if anyone want to look at them again, send me a PM or an e-mail and I will send them to you. Good luck and God Bless.

Congrats on a great year for your family.
  7. http://www.tcarms.com/firearms/mzTraditional.php http://www.lymanproducts.com/lymanproducts/rifles.htm With a patched round ball accuracy is going to suffer, 75 yards would be a decent shot. It looks like you could also shoot maxi balls or other conicals and they will improve accuracy somewhat, the more you shoot the rifle you will know the loads and increase your accuracy. I am sure there are other people on here with way more experience than me and can help you out, maybe me too.
  8. Kind of off topic, but did you guys notice the mention of online apps on the azgfd website. NEW! 2007 Draw Info for Antelope, Elk Beginning in 2007, applications for all antelope and elk hunts will be accepted beginning in December with the drawing occurring in March. The deadline for the Game and Fish Department to receive applications for the 2007 draw for antelope and elk will be 7 p.m. (MST) on Tuesday, February 13, 2007. The 2007 Arizona Pronghorn Antelope and Elk Draw Information booklet is available for download from the link below. Printed copies of the booklet should be available at license dealers statewide by mid-January. Paper applications for this draw can be submitted immediately. The department continues to work on issues associated with an online application process. If all goes well, hunters should be also be able to apply via computer sometime in early to mid-January. Please check this web page frequently for additional information.

    Doe with antlers

ABOUT TWENTY YEARS AGO I TALKED TO A HUNTER IN 6A WITH A DEER HANGING IN HIS CAMP, HE TOLD ME THAT IT WAS A DOE THAT HAD GROWN ANTLERS, IT WAS ALREADY DRESSED OUT AT THE TIME, I WAS YOUNG AND DO NOT KNOW IF HE WAS JUST PULLING MY LEG OR WHAT, I DON'T REMEMBER BUT I SEEM TO THINK IT WAS A WHITETAIL, DOES THIS HAPPEN, I WOULD THINK THE ONLY WAY TO TELL WOULD BE TO SHOOT ONE OR CAPTURE ONE, I HAVEN'T READ ABOUT IT, I WAS JUST WONDERING IF ANY ONE ELSE MIGHT KNOW SOMETHING

    ASU

I personally don't think he would take anything less than the head coaching position, but that is what I heard yesterday on the radio and that was early yesterday and they were talking about Erickson like it had already happened too, I was kind of hoping that if they were right about one than they might be right about both. ASU hasn't announced anything yet, they may pull a Koetter and say they made a mind.

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2692505 For those of you that are interested, it looks like Erickson. I did hear that Danny White will be the quarterbacks coach or the O.C., but then again I think his name pops up every time they are looking for a coach.

    coues heart??

See there Casey you went off and shot something soft hearted ,whats next little fluffy bunnies. On a serious note, did you keep the heart to eat or no, was it fully intact or had it been hit.

He does have a degree, that was one of the things mentioned, but you still can't believe everything you read or hear. I hope he is part of the coaching staff too, the tradition and the Kush mentality are sorely missed.

    Randy Ulmer Hunting Accident?

If you are happy with the way you hunt and it is legal who cares what anyone else thinks, when you show people what you did there is always going to be criticism, and if it is a monster there is going to be a ton of it, and with that there is going to be jealousy. I am not saying that people on here are jealous, but over the years it is ingrained in us that if it is the best or some sort of record someone must be cheating some certainly are and a lot aren't only the person that does it and God know the truth the rest of us just speculate. You can go out and buy every gadget and piece of high tech equipment out there to help you hunt, but in the end if you are just doing it to impress people and not really getting any enjoyment out of it why do it, hunting should make people happy and if it doesn't you are not doing something right and I don't mean killing anything, just hunting and having fun. Get outdoors and enjoy, Good Luck and God Bless.

    Lions

Is it just me or do predators cycle with the game, if there is plenty of game the predators will multiply, then when the game population gets reduced, it may takes a few years for the predator population to decrease, but in that span is when they will really hurt the deer population. That is not to mention that drought conditions probably hurt the animals that feed on plants more than anything, all of these stock tanks and man made water sources are used by all animals predators and prey, and if there are very few places to water then ambush points for predators are narrowed down, now we have weakened malnourished thirsty deer that become easy prey. The only thing that I can think of is to buy a lion tag and use it if you get the chance, and if I am not mistaken there are several units that have harvest objectives that allow more than one lion to be taken. If they are hunting in packs nature will eventually turn on them and they will turn on each other, but the sad part is that that will take place when food becomes scarce. Us moving in on their territory will kill them off faster than anything, but it will also reduce all the game in those areas. (except for yotes since they adapt to anything)

    Chocolate Labradors

Whatch out getting a Lab pup, they will take over your life, and its a good thing. I agree with that, Labs are great dogs.

    Finally working!

No wonder your groups do well, it looks like the alternatives to the hunting are just plain wrong. Good Luck to you guys. Welcome to the site jnobleinaz.

    Coues Slaughter

I don't have a problem with someone in the military being allowed this benefit, a very small price to pay for what they do for all of us. If those deer were endangering human life they were probably not going to wait for hunters to eliminate them or for them to be captured a sad loss, but necessary.
