Was confused by the chart at first myself but after looking at it for awhile seems that everything to the right of the decimal are the ounces (.03 = 3 ounces), and everything to the left of the decimal are the full pound amounts (1.04 = 1 pound 4 ounces). There were photos in the local paper and looks like a good turn out and a lot of nice fish landed. DAN

Weather should be perfect for this one. DAN

I believe that's correct on the 5 fish limit. The first year the winner had 32 lbs then we closed off the river inlet and I believe last year the winner had maybe 8 lbs over 2 days lol. DAN

This particular person has his event about same time once a year for I think at least the last 2 years running. There is another local group who plan on having a monthly one which started end of last month and should continue I would guess end of this month, I'll post any info I come across. Yes full sz ramp on north side of the Lake. The department continues to make improvements to the lake and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future as San Carlos Lake is now just a memory. Predator Management Event this coming weekend on San Carlos. 1 or 2 person teams, entire Reservation will be open for the event. Non-members will need a predator license for Saturday and Sunday only and will be allowed to camp Friday (no permits needed Friday as no hunting on Friday) through Sunday. Required to check in Friday at the Main Office before heading out to camp and only one official Check-in on Sunday for tally. DAN

Things turned out really good and good results. Tons of door prizes for those who were able to stick around and plenty of Frybread. On a side note I believe 2 of the Cattle Associations are still paying bounty for predators. You can contact them for exact details and requirements but it's always been open to everyone including non-members. DAN

Small Game is open on San Carlos today through Feb 6, 2022. Quail outlook is good even with the large fires over the summer. Road conditions are very poor after the heavy rains and I would definitely recommend high clearance and an extra spare tire for those traveling further away from the main roads. Temps have been cooling down nicely but I would still be prepared to cross a snake or two while out and about. Dove is also open through the end of the year for those who aren't aware. Permits are available at the far east Circle K in Globe, Apache Gold Chevron in Cutter, and the Department office in Peridot. Regarding Covid19 on the Rez, face masks are required before entering any business or store but that's about it, no longer required to show proof of vaccination. DAN

Even on the Rez general deer tag purchases and Trophy Hunt lottery entries never plateau or decline from a previous year. DAN

Telegraph is just shy of 140,000 acres and still burning out areas up Dripping Springs Wash near the mine. Pinals are completely obliterated and sounds like homes/ranches were lost in the El Capitan area but livestock survived. DAN
