Excellent story, i like the quick gameplan and getting it in motion as quick as possible and getting it done with just enough time instead of debating debating and losing precious time, well deserving buck!!! DAN -
San Carlos Tribal Hunt 3x3 First Buck!!!
Apache7mm replied to Apache7mm's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
HAHA, yea its going to be another great season for the NOV coues guys coming up, last year i think they had a better season than the RUT hunt guys, as long as they don't be too picky they should do just fine, can't wait to see more big bucks from the rez!!! DAN -

here's the deal... Commissioners felt that nothing should be given away free so they wanted to change it to its own hunt with a price tag of $250 bucks, never happened for who knows what reason(s), so it just died at that BUT, they did decide that no more (ANY) tags would be given away for free, so now you gotta buy it the way it already was, so as it stands.... Mtn Lion Tag: $15.00 Daily Fee: $10/day Bag Limit: 5 per year Pretty good deal if you ask me. PS. Try not to rely on the website for info, no one monitors it and updates are only made as they happen, sometimes haha, best thing to do always is call and ask, if its too much of a hassle then i suggest taking BeardownAZ's advice and just don't hunt the rez and let someone else deal with it. Deer hunting was good on the north slope, we jumped a 3x3 100"er but let him walk, and we seen a spike later on but it started to rain so we never made it to our destination, also seen a pie-bald coues doe, she had a big white spot on her forehead haha and her flank areas were pretty white up high, she looked beautiful, didn't get any pics of her only video, she winded us soon after we spotted them, wind was the big thing though, way too windy so we just headed home. Don't worry about what UNIT to get, if you're working that overtime for a reason then just make sure you get a tag period, all the units have trophies!!! Your biggest concern will be just getting a tag, plan to do what you can to secure a tag, i'm sure there are plenty of guys on this site who can tell you their nightmares about waiting in line or line-jumpers or paid stand-ins or whatever, but there are also those who can tell you they just showed up and got a tag with no problem. Another thing is pay close attention as to what date exactly the tags go on sale, i can promise you it will change anywhere from 1 to 10 times haha, GOOD LUCK buddy and be sure to share your story and pics. San Carlos NT Coues tribal hunt
Apache7mm replied to Apache7mm's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Sorry forgot to mention that it was taken by a local tribal hunter not myself haha, i just wanted to get it posted before i didn't have time to do so, but from what i gathered from the hunter, he's been watching this buck for awhile now and knew exactly where to find him, and he says "good scouting paid off".
