Girls Shoot Better replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Javelina
Sorry it took so long to repley on here. Been working alot and sudying for mid terms. Thanks Amanda for a great hunt. I had a blast and hopefully next year we can stay for the whole hunt. Thanks TJ and my dad for taking me out and stocking those pigs. I met alot of new people and some friends from last year. See you all next year. -
That is a nice cat. The way that it is on your shoulder is makes for a cool picture

Garrett is my little brother and half the time takes me out hunting. It is truely amazing about how much information he knows at such a young age. He tells me the new stuff that he has learned and I cant even believe that he knows all of that. I wish I was like that at his age, heck even now.

That is awesome
-
That is awesome, he is pretty brave. I surely could not do that, I am too afraid of hights plus the fact that he is dropping.

This is Girls Shoot Better's mom....Pine Donkey's wife....I do not have a CWT membership...Just wanted to say that Pine Donkey is full of poo! If I wanted to cash in his insurance policy...I am a darn good shot and have plenty of different fire power of my own to chose from! If I was going to shoot him...it would be during his daily hours of reading his CWT posts while he is parked in his recliner...not while we were out hunting! If he doesn't watch out...I might make that costume a reality! Haha :-P

Those are awesome photos. I love the photos of him on top the ridge. Those are great, good enough to go in magazines. Thanks for sharing those.

Ah I am sorry. I dont know of any places that takes huntingn dogs and use them. In Tombstone, Az there is a no kill shelter that you can take them too. I dont know where you live but you can always look for places like that. I would love another dog but I am in college and already have one, that is enough for me right now.

ROCKY MOUNTAIN SHEEP ON BLACK RIVER
Girls Shoot Better replied to billrquimby's topic in The Campfire
Yeah I seen sheep there once that I can think of. We were just driving down the road close to the camp sites and they were maybe 50 yards off of the road, maybe not even that far. They were not even spooked when we stopped to look at them. Since the road is closed that is a big bummer, that is one of my favorite places to fish. -
The other day when I was walking out of the college, the tree right in front of my car there were a couple people standing there taking pictures. When I walked over there, there was a hawk playing under a tree in just got watered. He was splashing around and squaking(I think that is what you call it). It was really cool to watch until he puffed up his feathers and started walking our way. I took a bunch of photos but they where on my phone so they all didnt come out great but here is are the best ones. Amanda I thought you would enjoy this also.

While out glassing for "deer" with Game & Fish Officer, Gabe Paz...he shared a story about ethics in hunting and how they carry over into our lives. Gabe, I apologize if I mess up your story a little, but I have thought about your story a lot. Gabe was telling us about catching people who poach and listening to their reasons why they are "right". He tells several versions...depending on his audience. One example is...if two people are hunting. They are out scouting the day before the season starts. They see a trophy animal and have a perfect shot! One hunter tells the other one, "Take the shot!". The second hunter says, "No! The season doesn't start until tomorrow." The first hunter argues, "Who will know?". The second hunter says, "I do!". This carries over to regular, every day life. A husband could easily tell his wife that he is going to a required conference for his job. Wife believes him and wishes him a good trip. The husband could go to Vegas, gamble and drink, all weekend. He gets home, and his wife knows nothing about his misdeeds. Does it make it right? Aldo Leopold clarified these ideas when he wrote: "A peculiar virtue in wildlife ethics is that the hunter ordinarily has no gallery to applaud or disapprove of his conduct. Whatever his acts, they are dictated by his own conscience, rather than by a mob of onlookers. It is difficult to exaggerate the importance of this fact." A Sand County Almanac What we do out in the field and in our daily lives shape who we are. Ethics don't just define what we do...they define who we are! Gabe, thanks for sharing the stories about the importance of personal ethics!

That is suck a cool find. I got a question, could you take it home when you found it because I always thought you couldn't take any part of a game kill if it still had fur or meet on it. Just wondering. Thanks

Chupacabra in Texas???
Girls Shoot Better replied to stanley's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
Thats why I am glad i live in AZ. When I was younger I used to be deathly afraid of him because all the guys I hunted with found every way in the book to scare me, uncluding my dad. Not cool. -
Check out the footage of this TOAD!
Girls Shoot Better replied to OpticNerd's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
I think that frog is bigger than most dogs I have seen. -
How many shots have you missed because you had buck fever??
Girls Shoot Better replied to tatumsdad08's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
The first deer I ever shot at with a bow I missed. The second time I hit. That also goes with pigs. I missed the only time I shot at one. I am a new bow hunter so I guess it is ok. -
I enjoy taking pictures of wildlife and sharing them. Its so cool to do that but it really makes me mad when people have to go farther than the pictures and poach the animal. That is part of the reason why I want go into the azgf and become game manger because when I catch people poaching, I will never give them mercy. Amanda that bird is so beautiful that I really hope they do find that idiot. I am really sorry that happened.

My parents and little brother went to my grandparents house for my grandads birthday, and of course with the dogs. I couldnt go because I had to go to a thing this called work, lol. Well on the way there my puppy Cabela (who by the way turns 1 in a couple days), was looking out the back window. My mom was sitting in the front seat and knew that she had to get picture of this. She sent this to me and I loved it. Then she sent the next one and called me to ask me what I thought of the pics. I told her that I had to post it on cwt. This is my puppy, and she has been on this site before.
