I just wanted to give a big thanks to a couple of guys I ran into on Sat Sept 17 the second day of AZ Elk bow hunt in 6A-south. I was there to help my hunting partner/cousin with his cow archery tag. I went to the truck to use the cell phone to call home. To get any signal you have to drive up and down the paved road(FH-3 near the power lines, if you need it) and quickly pull over when the cell shows any signal. I finally found it and was calling home to the boss, I meant wife . Two guys in head to toe camo in new Chevy Colorado white reg cab work truck flipped a U and came to ask me if I was broken down. I guess they saw my sorry tired a$$ standing next to the truck using the phone and felt sorry for me! They BOTH had bows and still took time out of the hunting day to try and help me!!! I explained that I was only using the phone and thanks anyways. Made me feel proud that these two bowhunters were willing to stop and help! THANK YOU GUYS !!!

Hey Bass Was that bad road 229 from FH-3 to Apache maid? That had to be one of the the worst "roads" I have taken, although it was during a Nov Muzz hunt with 10-12 inches of snow on the ground. I even took that same road during a Sept camping trip and I could not tell I was on it. Thats how different it was! I bet you guys have been down worst. isn't 6A famos for it's bad roads?

Does anyone know what happened to the BIG BOY mulie that was running around in kaibab??The pic was all over the net, he had lots of long point and junk. The pic was of him running, meaning alive! At least before last season. -

Great topic and even better reading! Some great points brought up by all. Mine was last year at 406 yards, exactly 6 yards past my self emposed limit. The mulie was too pretty and bigger than I had ever taken before. My practicing at the turkeys in 3-points paid off. I did forget to account for the "light wind". In the end I did get him and am very proud of him because I prepaired and practiced for it. I will say that every thing I have taken before has been at less than 100 yards. I have a question Lark: When was the .270 introduced? -
Congrats!!! Beautiful bull of a lifetime! We were in 6A south this weekend as well and had a blast! although not as much as you !!

As I understand it the rifleman scopes do NOT have the same coatings as the other models like the VX-ll. Other wise same glass, housings, ajustments. -
Carrying a handgun while archery hunting?
More D replied to Whitehntr's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
A CCW permit does not allow you to carry a firearm. At least that is what I remember from my class. Our instructor also told a story that a man was hunting and ran into a WM in the woods and during there talk the WM saw the hunter had a large revolver in a sholder holster set up under his coat(not in plain sight) and was given a ticket for not having a CCW permit. No CCW permit, keep it in plain sight! -
Great job! You have TONS to be proud of, two in a row!

WOW! This weekend we drove out to Red Rock and saw a grand total of 5 doves and 22 trucks with hunters looking for them! What?!? Famous RED ROCK! Yes 5 dove and of course 3 coves of fat quail that I can't hunt yet. So we had it and drove to 36C and had a great time lots of doves and every white wing I saw was flying. The hills are beauitful and very green and worth every second. Take your allergy meds if you have them, your gonna need them!

It amazes me how smart these big boys are! You notice how he lays so that he even looks like the two big rocks to his left and the one to his right! Talk about camo!

I have an older PSE bastered model bow. I too have a short draw length so even with 74# of draw weight I am only getting 245fps. My arrow is at 375gr?(I think) with the 100grn broadhead. My draw weight and speed I am sure of, the arrow weight I am not. I have had it now for 3-4 years now and I still have not taken anything with it, but it sure is lots of fun!

Wensday morning on the cox home page the new section reported that gas prices were going up .20 cents by the end of this week. So I figured during my lunch at 8:30am I would fill up the truck and the car. I get to the gas station and gas was at $2.63, I was shocked because I just filled up at Costco the Thursday before at $2.45. WOW. My wife went at 8pm to fill up the car at the same gas station for $2.73. Two other gas station less than 1 mile away were at $2.87 and $2.99 You boys up in Phx and up north I guess are gonna have it worse ! We are at $3 per gallon, $4 here we come! Just saw on news that some places went up .50 cent over night!

WOW!! That will be fun! Hope tom see you holding one of those boys with a big smile on your face! This time try not to take him on your first stalk of the season so that we don't all feel bad!!! -
From my family to yours: You are in our prayers and hearts! It seems that the measure of a man is the amount of caring and support he gets from those around him when he finds life has dealt him a hard time. Well gents, we have that here. I would my honor!

Nice! When ever I see one like that I always imagine a coyote carrying some thing like that around as toy.
