I know what you mean red rabbit that is how I was reading the terms when I started to do my research on the 'SXS' forums out there. The Ranger XT is what we got because of the bench seat. I also seems to be the most capable work wise. Towing, load capacity, etc...... Azonecam, There are some great deals to be had on the "left over" '08 Ranger because the '09 just came out and there was some design changes. What ever you do look at all of them and find the best one. When/if you buy one there are tons of aftermarket stuff to buy for them too.

Jason I know what you mean. Let me tell you a bit about our situation even though it may only confuse you more. We had decided that we wanted a quad for hunting a few years ago. After a lot of research I came down to a certain model. Except that hunting for us is a family deal. I determined that my wife, daughter and I could not ride safely so a side-by-side it was. I would also be cheaper overall because my wife would want her own quad but wouldn't really use it. Either way I would have too tow what ever we got on a utility trailer because two quads or the SXS(side-by-side) I narrowed it down to would not fit in the back of a truck. Now that we have a SXS it is a ton of fun and really can get to places 98% of most hunting trucks can't, think Amber for the remaining 2%. It is also quality time that the three of us spend together in our outdoors and that is priceless. Now to get back to your question about justifying the money part. A few years ago I bought a "hunting truck" that was used really only for hunting. We didn't need another vehicle when I got it. Now I have to use that truck for school and since we have to SXS it will now be the tow truck when hunting season rolls around. Yesterday on the way back from a day trip to the Sierrita's it dawned on me that I was towing our 'new' toy with my 'old' hunting truck that by my math cost nearly 2 1/2 times as much with the utility trailer and all. Is it worth it? Totally!! If you can swallow the pill. If you think about it we do that a lot in our love for the outdoors. Would do it all over again in a heart beat and we havent even taken it hunting yet!

I've had the Leica lrf 900 for 5 years and I have never had any problems and it has never failed read unless it is over 998 yards. Battery, a 9volt, lasts a long time as well. Whatcha need a rangey fer anyhu? dontcha just lick yur thum and hold it out and squint one eye??

I love knifes. They are like a cheaper outlet of buying cool stuff because I can't yet afford to buy all the guns and rifles I want. I rarely spend more than $60 on a knife but I have 'lots' according to my wife. It is only around 10-12 from 2 inch blade up to 8. I too have lost a few, like six, that is why I limit how much I spend on each. Now a days they seem to be looked at as "weapons" instead of just a plain old pocket knife. They are fun though!

I know how you feel. I was raised similarly, eat what you take or don't kill it. But over the years I have read a lot on the subject and I have done a lot of thinking and now coyotes are the only animal I shoot and don't eat. I have never gone out exclusively to predator call for them. Only because I don't know how, the ones I have taken have been while hunting fro deer and birds. Find your own way but hopefully you too can help the coyote population from eating what we love to chase.

We do all of our own processing in my uncles work shop. It has ground up an elk, two mulies and an occasional store bought roast. My uncle has the same model and he also has had zero issues. That seems like a great way to take the big sleep. Seems a lot better than spreading my ashes in all of my favorite hunting grounds to help feed to soil that feeds the game I love so much. The way Mr. Torres was remembered his buddies can visit while out hunting. Very cool ......
