I got an email from Doug stating that I had won and to please call him. I did so and he quickly said congrats and asked for my address. Just like that! I woke up from my nap and my wife said I got a box in the mail!!! I will recommend Doug and his crew to all who will listen. 5.56 is loaded to "slightly" higher pressures. But it is higher. BW, if the failure is as bad as it sounds there might have been a different issue with the rifle.

3. All I ever apply for is MZL hunts because I got tired of waiting for a tag. Worst of all NONE of the people I hunt with got drawn, NONE! Now what the he!! am I supposed to do!!!

I too saw the same in 32 but.........they were stuck on a bulls.......bullness Like what you see hanging from the hitch of a big truck. When I remember I laugh and hurt at the same time.

I have compared deer taken and from my very informal observation hoof size has to do with terrain the deer is living in. Two examples that stand out were two mulies that were taken in very different terrains. The spike lived in very rocky steep hills had the same or similar sized hoofs as a 3.5 year old who called rolling hills home. Both were taken the same day about 20miles apart. Coincidently there ear had the same measurement across, +/- 1 inch. I like the idea. It will be interesting to see what we come up with....

I need to put some loc-tight on my muzzle loaders ring and bases. Which color should I use? Red, blue or ?? Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the responses. I also did some internet searching and 'bases only, not the rings' seem to be the consensus. My issue is that my scope is drifting forward. Perhaps I am not tightening them sufficiently? I don’t have a torque wrench let alone one that measures in inch ponds. Leopold actually recommends adding oil to the treads to increase tightening? Any thoughts?

As mentioned above each rifle like center fired have there own perfered loads. Muzzle loaders in my exprience are much more finicky. I too went with loose and the rifle finally found what it liked after 12-14 different bullet/bullet weight/sabot types/powder charges. I went with 120grs of 777, Barnes 300grn expander-mz. That combo is good for 2inch groups at 200yrds, again in my rifle. 3inch high at 100yrds and 3inch low at 200yrds.
