just spoke to him and its not a shot gun but a 7mm... i just may have a new hunting partner!! -
i was on my upteenth archery hunt and id had many opertunities but i finally had on fall in my lap so to speak. as we were heading out of the area on our way home 2 javies walked in front of the truck. we got all excited and pulled over and started to get all of our gear to gether. we did the "ill go this way and you go that way" deal. as im walking i finally cut the track and i start my elmer fudd walk. i must have gone 30yards in as may min. i of course lost the trail...i saw a wash and figured i could hurry ahead and try and cut the track again and start over. im walking slowly down the wash and a noise made me freeze. 10 yards away a javie is staring me down with one in tow. after a long while the rear javie got fed up that the front one was not moving started to come around the first one and made a uturn and laid down next the the one staring me down. finally he laid down but kept his head up looking at me. so i have two javies, one facing me and one with its rear to me facing straight away, at 10 yards. i do my best impersination of a bush in the wind as i get my proper stance and draw back(it took me 10 min easy, i was sure not gonna mess this opertunity up!) im at full draw......i wait for the facing pig to turn it head, to do a frontal shot, the arse of the other.......here it is......release........i shoot the OTHER piggie in the arse. im missed by a foot at 10YARDS! all heck breaks loose and the pig is stumbuling around and SCREAMING like he's being skinned alive. im freaking out and standing like a little girl who has to pee cause the screaming is making my hair stand straight up like fingernails on a chalk board. he finally tires out and stops moving but not screaming! and for the first time shoot and animal where you are suposesed to. that was the last time i hunt javies with a bow....

8-10 years ago i got a left over tag just to go hunting. thats what i did, i went hunting. the only access then was from the east side of dos cabezas. the one road up one canyon held 4 camps. we all seemed to have draw left over tags with the exception of one guy who wanted to hunt there. he had scouted out a nice 90 some inch if i remember and took him the first day after back pack camping way up the mountain. there were three guys who would seem to shoot all day long. one of them took a spike after 50+shots in 3 days. from the west side there was a guy who i swear was sitting buy the sign in book who enjoyed telling hunters "you cant hunt for the first 2miles, after that go ahead" you'd drive two miles exactly and there would be the first of may signs saying the same thing. "no hunting for xx miles" i made 3 scouting trips down there. i seemed to see mulies up high and once a wt buck chasing after a heard of mulie does. it was an adventure. still got to hunt.

youll get the check for sure....maybe even a tag too . not sure i ever told this story....so he goes. more than a few years ago i went to a out door festival that had some vendors selling stuff. as my family and i worked my way through the vendors i saw something that really caught my eye. it was a JAGUAR pelt!! i talked to the vendor and i played dumb (not too hard for me to do) and he didnt seem to know what he had and more importantly the significance either. i took his information and i called azgfd and forwarded the info. later they called me and told me they aressted the guy and took the pelt, of course. i took the money and gave it right back to azgfd in the form of tag applications. i did draw a bull elk tag! good carma? i didnt question it....... i did it at the time cause it pi$$ed me off that he was selling a actual JAGUAR pelt, heck i didnt even know the was a reward of any type untill i got the check. during the whole process the wm never methioned it.

tough deal......but not as tough as your little one. Lord willing she will do great....kids are very strong and can handle much more than us adults can. GOD bless you and yours....

this isnt the first one though. I remember a blind that was mirrored but flexible, almost like thick or heavy fioled plastic. i imagine you would have to ensure it was angled downward to reflect the ground and not the blue sky.

i agree. its a job for the crazies. ....put my name on the list too

i have once in 32 while hunting mulies. High above on a look out my wife and i saw 2 different groups of does meet. Each had from 6-10 does and yearlings. At first they kind of mixed and mingled but soon two of what im guessing to be the lead does went at it like in your pic. It reminded me of two boxers going at it. After 60-90 second they stopped 'boxing' and all started to follow just one big doe. I imagined they were establishing dominace...cool stuff!

looks like a man who has his prioreties in order!

not to make it harder but why not the 65 vs 80. is the extra light gathering worth weight/expense?

id pass i havnt practiced enough (too far) to windy(for most) in my ignorant opinion. 25mph wind where the shooter sits. Who knows whats gonna happening at the bullet path. Unless your job is shooting at stuff reguardless of conditions, ie sniper, very few should even try. In the end if any doubt arises pass and try being a hunter by getting closer and not just a shooter.

ouch!! sorry man, its happen to me too... let us know how it goes

thanks.........very cool!

difinatly go with the Honda 2000ie. A few things most dont take into account: Amount of gas the industrial gennys use. More run at 100% regardless of load= lots-o-gas. There shear weight. 2000ie is somthing like 44lbs= one handed pick up. Most importantly its like high end glass, you will eventually get the good kind anyway. Just save your self the trouble. I was the first to get the Honda 2000 out our hunting party, like 4 trailers, and now we all have them. They all said I was crazy to spend so much. 2 of the 4 already owned the big industrial type gennys and they still bought the hondas just for camping.

Good weather + blow off work = decent day at the range.

a shitty day at the range is better than a day at work........ -
I have never won anything better than a potted plant (no joke) untill now!!!!!!! Nikon Monarch 10x36's. $279 at Cabelis.com Wohoo!! I got an email from Doug stating that I had won and to please call him. I did so and he quickly said congrats and asked for my address. Just like that! I woke up from my nap and my wife said I got a box in the mail!!! I will recommend Doug and his crew to all who will listen.
