Nelson Ford at The Gunsmith Inc. did a great job replacing the trigger on my 1911. He had it done in just a few min! I literally took longer for me to run the corner store for cash, he only does cash, than it did for him to do the install. He has a funny/strange sense of humor that was well worth the visit. He charged me much less than the quoted price for the switch out “because I’m in a good mood…” Really it was because “the trigger went in easy even though it (the pistol) did not have a ‘pony’ on it” I went with him because he said he would do the job while I waited instead of 4-8 weeks that everyone else stated for turnaround time. Thanks for the input guys! More D

I need a new trigger and rear sight put in my new 1911. Can anyone recommend a smith here in town. I reviewed past questions/posts but I want to see if I can stay in Tucson area. Thanks!

I have been trying to think of a way to help CWT.com for the holiday season seeing as how this site gives to me every day of the year! There is currently a “web 50% off special” but it is only on certain items and the discount is far from 50%. I took a look on the website and did not find anything that I had to have. I will never use it so I propose this….. I will give the coupon code to a member who would actually use it in exchange for a donation to Amanda and this wonderful web site. I should mention that per the website there is no shipping till 12/31/2014 but the 50% off can still save someone some real money. Internal frame packs run from $125 to $465. One could conceivably save from $60 to $230 some dollars! As far I know the coupon code is a onetime deal. If it works multiple times than great, it would mean more donations for Amanda and CWT.com. The donation amount is up to you to determine as long as the end result is Amanda getting it. I would be happy to call customer service up if any issues arise at the time of ordering etc. Thoughts?

Very interesting... This is a rear leg bone from a Bull Elk I took more than a few years ago. We found three total bullets in him. One in each front sholder, right where we all ideally aim and the last in this rear leg bone. Both front bullets just plain did not peretrate more than 2-3 inches. The rear leg had a softball sized groth of cartilage type growth around the injury. All if the bullets were recovered too. They were very deformed but looked small and very light jacketed.

i have the same exact model and LOVE it. it has served me well for 11+ years with out a single issue. they may be smaller now a days but not that this one bother me at all. More D

My first diesel was a used 6.4l F250 with 35k miles. I drove it for just under 40k miles. I sold it because it ran out of warranty and I got nervous. The truck had two issues during that time: 1st-A/C compressor went out. I do not consider that to be a truck specific issue, any A/C can go bad……I did not care much as it was covered under warranty. 2nd- the DPF went out. It was covered under warranty, because I have an AWSOME service advisor at the dealership. The filer was not defective or anything like that. A PACK RAT in unit 32 while hunting javies was to blame. The dang rat ate the wiring insulation and caused the EGT sensor to fail which caused the DPF to go out. I paid a bit less than $100 for the sensor if I remember correctly. That’s it! I towed only a few times a year, maybe 1k miles, all hunting/camping related. I also insist on keeping my vehicles completely stock and dealer serviced. The last two only add to reliability and resale value. I sold my 2008 6.4 in 2013. I asked my service advisor and dealer mechanic their opinions on the new 6.7 and I only heard great things. The service advisor said he had a customer who at the time already had one 6.7 with 100k+ miles with ZERO issues, only oil, filer changes. It was used for towing 4-12k pounds EXCLUSIVELY. The mechanic said “I hate them….I don’t make any money on them. All we have to ever do on them is oil changes. I was sold. I bought a new F250 with a 6.7 less than 30 days after I sold the 6.4. The new one is much stronger and has a smoother tranny shift wise. Another difference I will say about the two.... the air filter had to be changed after only 15k miles on the new 6.7. On the 6.4 I never had change the air filer in the 40k miles I owned it. The filter cost for a 6.7=$17 delivered. The 6.4 costs=$60 delivered. So not really a negative. More D
