Update... I ended up sending my binos on September 8. I paid extra for two day delivery. I received a "we got your package" email from Vortex on the 15th. Nothing since then... I am getting nervous because we leave for my daughter's Elk hunt in four days. I really hope Vortex comes through before we leave. Should I call? More D

Thatis how it starts off. You convince yourself that just a small travel trailer. ...then you bump yourself into something bigger......and bigger. This is not a bad thing just try and be ready for it. We just got a 5th wheel that we love. It fits us and frankly we are blessed to have what we we looking for but I just caught myself telling my wife that "our next one is going to be a bigger toy hauler" Which will require a 1ton dually, etc, etc. It is hard to slow down. For us it is easy to justify. That is our family time. My kids would rather go hunting, camping than go to Disneyland. One day when they grow up that might change but I see no better way of showing my children God's creation and keep them grounded and close by. When they grow up I hope they remember all the wonderful times we had together as a family. I am not opposed to tenting it but I am not too proud to admit that I would rather not.

On our original Ranger I insisted on a winch. In the 5+ years we owned it we never once needed it. Save your money for the roof and a half windshield.

Our 2015 Ranger Crew was 12f 4in overall length. So a 14ft trailer is needed. For safety and comfort you cannot beat a Range vs a quad. Our original Ranger was the standard. I tried the seat in the back but the kids HATED IT. So we sold it and upgraded to the Crew. Get a roof of some kind right away. ...it is worth it. More D

Time for a new tuck Diesel or Gas
More D replied to AZBUCKEYE's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
We just bought a 5th wheel trailer. I towed it up north to 6A over the last holiday weekend and I was SO impressed by our ’13 6.7l. Our new 5th wheeler is just over 13k dry and 37ft long. After the boss loads it up I figure it has to be close to 15K. On the way up and back I set the cruise control at 60mph and never messed with it again. The turbo gauge moves around on the hills and the occasional down shift were the norm but it NEVER dropped below the setting of the cruise control! Very Cool! Mileage is approx 15 around town and 10-11 towing the 5th wheel. Most importantly is felt great, stable and SAFE. In our caravan up north our neighbor was pulling his new 27ft TT which is approx 8500lbs with his “faithful” Chevy 2500 with a gas motor. It has approx 100k miles on it. Poor guy was stuck going 25-35mph on the big hills. Key here is that his truck is rated for MUCH more but it still had a hard time. He is now looking for a ¾ ton diesel. More D -
get this to Jim Hefelfinger from AZGFD to look at it. More D

"today with the Pope" Now that is funny $hits! Maybe we should change your handle from Lark to The most interesting man in the world. ....

I am looking for a Heater buddy and or a Camco Olympian RV heater. We were lucky enough to draw a JR Elk tag for my daughter and matching MZ Bull tags for the boss and I. Our new to us 5th wheel is great and the heater works wonderfully but I would like to supplement the heat with something that does NOT draw battery power. We plan to be up north for the full hunt so batteries start to weaken after about 5+ days even if they are put on a charger nightly for 4+ hours. I am hoping someone here has one that they might not need or used in a while. Thanks More D

Those are the type I had in mind. The link showed them all. I would be happy to pay your pops.
