Nice! Makes me want to dust off the bow and buy a tag.

Heck of a buck congrats! Love the old school Photoshop job you guys did on the pic. The cameraman must be covering up some power lines or some other telling feature. Who needs Photoshop just use your thumb .

Congrats! Nothing better than hunting big desert muleys in the rut except maybe hunting big desert coues in the rut. Thanks for posting.

I'd like one.

Some great info here guys. Out of all the tips and info posted if all you did was what Pine Donkey and Becker said over time you'd become a better glasser. Pretty sure this has been said already but I feel it should be said again and that is just because you don't see deer doesn't mean they are not there. I feel this is very important to remember when glassing and it helps keep you in a positive state of mind. For me staying mentally positive is almost as important as my optics and glassing technique. I try to remind myself the more I'm looking through the glass the greater my chances are that I'll find deer.

Big Boquillas Ranch Threat or Leverage or Both!
OpticNerd replied to SirRoyal's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
In the flyer it say the ranch and the G&F are working on extending the current existing access agreement(key words current existing) which in my mind means there will be no changes made to the current agreement other than the extension but then in the next sentence they contradict this by saying the ranch is trying to improve the quality of the hunting experience who hunt the ranch which in my mind says they trying to change the current agreement. Well which is it? Are they just working on just extending the current agreement or or they trying to change it up? I sure hope the ranch isn't working with an outfitter trying to get the outfitter exclusive hunting privileges to the ranch similar to Double D outfitters and the X-1 ranch. -
When you say that you could use a spotting scope in some situations what exactly do you mean by this? Would you be using the spotter to glass with or just to get a closer look at things you already found in your binos?

Blessed with our first 2 coues bucks!
OpticNerd replied to shurtzgarret's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Great bucks congrats to you both. That 32 buck is sweet looking! I've probably seen more than 1000 bucks over the years hunting 32 and I have never seen a buck in that unit with huge eye guards like that. -
Saw a 2x2 chase a doe for 15 mins with his nose to the ground straight out doggin her. She finally was able to give him the slip after which the buck was able to sniff out 3 more doe and proceeded to chased them around for about 5 mins. All this happen during the early rifle hunt(late October) in unit 29.

Becker shoots yet another GIANT coues! This guy sure has got these big boys figured out. Such an incredible deer! I Love everything about this buck especially his beams. How long are they 20+??? You going to post any more details on how the hunt went down? Congrats on getting your biggest buck man!

. The buck lived the entire time in about a 800 yard by 800 yard box. Usually in very thick and flat terrain. He had to be on the fringes of that box in order to harvest him. That's why we were lucky to get him because catching him on the fringe of his core habitat required the luck of timing. Gets old sitting in the same spot all day, day after day waiting for him to make a mistake. Cool thanks. Sounds like you guys put in some serious work to get this buck. Congrats again to everyone involved and thanks for sharing the experience with us.

Not much more I can say that hasn't been said already. I'm a mass man and this kind of buck is the kind of buck I dream of finding someday. Congrats on such an incredible buck! Just out of curiosity how far did the buck move in the last three years of hunting him? Did he happen to stay in the same canyon year after year?

Sold. Thanks Mike!

I have a very nice pair of Swarovski 12x50 ELs for sale. I recently bought these from the original owner who bought them from an official US Swarovski dealer in 2014. The original owner used them very sparingly for stargazing only. Since I've bought them I've only used them in my backyard a few times to test them out. As far as I know they've never been on a hunt or been used anywhere other than someones yard. Needless to say they are in outstanding condition. I hate to use terms like "mint" or "like new" but in this case I would have to say they are in mint condition. Reason for the sale is simple my eyes were bigger than my wallet. Located in Seirra Vista and I'm asking $2200. I'll post pics as soon as I get the chance. Thanks. (((Reduced to $2000)))

Man what a great write up and incredible hunt it looks like you had Jack. I can confirm what you said about how things on Google Earth look smaller than they really are and I also tried a solo backpack hunt this year and an experience you what your had was exactly what I was hoping for. Unfortunately it didn't work out for me like yours did for you. Not even close. Huge congrats on your successful solo backpack hunt!

Back from hunting and all PMs have been answered. Binos are still available for $2000. There has been a lot of people asking me for trades. Sorry I'm not interested in trades at this time.

One of my favorites.

Probably the nicest glass I've had the opportunity to look through. Just a heads up starting tomorrow I'll be out hunting until Tuesday the 27th unless I tag out early. Not taking the 12x50s with me because I don't want to run the risk of damaging them in anyway so they'll still be in the same current condition as I listed in this ad.
