    Locator/beacon

Personal Locator Beacons(PLB) there are a variety of devices. If I go alone for long periods of time in the back country alone I rent a SAT phone. Can be pricey but my wife likes knowing I'm ok. Here's a good link to get started. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Personal-Locator-Beacon-Buyers-Guide/533046.uts

    Now the waiting game

Even if I draw I'm killing a big ole buck during the archery hunt! Not making that mistake again. (NEVER leave your bow!!! Duh!! Friggin, frakkin, freak!!!)

Few MD pics from over the last few years

Sadly that buck died that year and it wasn't by me. Had him within 40 yds a few times archery hunting and couldn't get a shot. A guy shot him on the rifle hunt and he had broke the cheaters off the one side. He went 30" without the cheaters. Hate it when that happens!

WTB Gun Cabinet or Gun Safe

Because they are not a "common" item they don't order them on a regular basis. You can call your local store and ask them to look at other stores. They can look who has them or who has placed an order and how many. I did the same thing! Saw one and said, I'll buy it next time. It was gone next time! This was the Costco in Gilbert. I spent a few hrs on the phone tracking one down. Turns out they had 6 coming in the next week. I was out of town. My wife went and bought it. All 6 sold in 1 day. If I see one I'll PM ya.

WTB Gun Cabinet or Gun Safe

Bought mine from Costco. They have them on sale now and then. I bought a Winchester. Love it. 31 cubic ft. $800. Few years ago there were several posts about members who were burglarized and lost all there hunting gear. Put me in a panic! Bought one that can hold all my guns, optics, my bow, etc.... IMO it's cheaper to buy a big safe to put your expensive/important stuff in than lose it costing THOUSANDS of $$$$ to replace it.

Would ya shake his hand ?

I'm right there with you kidso with the respect of our president and our constitution. I can assure you I would not let go of his hand until I told him of the job I disapprove he has done for the American people. He is our commander in chief and that scares the daylights out of me. TJ He is destroying our constitution. Therefore I have ZERO respect for him. Don't care what office he holds.

Would ya shake his hand ?

HAHAHAHA! Nope!! But I would tell him respectfully what I think of him. Even though its illegal to protest in the presence of the president.

    Hunters ED in Tucson

+1My experience with instructors in the hunter safety program has been exceptional. I'm sure there might be some knuckle heads. The guys I've met are guys just like me(ok about 30 yrs older) who love to hunt and fish and want to pass their passion on to the rising generation. I thanked everyone of them for volunteering. As for being geared toward 10 yr olds, yes. Thats what you want! Not grown men flying in from other states just to get a BP. I went to a field day about 2 months ago with my 9 yr old daughter and wife(neither have hunted before). The instructor went around the room and asked everyone why they were here. All the men said " for the BP". Dads with their kids said, so we can take our kids hunting. If its gear so only grown adults can pass, then we should just hand over the keys to the tree huggers now. Tines, sorry your threat got side tracked. When we did it we had to go to buckeye because there werent any classes offered in the east valley at that time. If you do find a class close by jump on it quick because I found they fill up quick. Good luck!

    Hunters ED in Tucson

I had one daughter do the class room and one do online. Class room is lengthy. If you pick up the booklet and study together she'll learn everything from you. That's priceless! The online couse is easy enough that my 9 yr old passed the test with very little help. I hammer the AZGF ALOT. But they do a REALLY good job with their hunter safety program! Hats off to them!

I have a friend who is in a higher management position at Verizon. Talked to him about it today. He said things are a little tense today at work. "Lots of conference calls".
