I've always believed the saying "practice where you play". And I believe that is more so when dealing with hunting in high elevation. I think people who are even in great shape take elevation for grantid and when you are not use to it, it will kick your butt. So....practice where you play. my 2 cents... TC

ETHICAL OUTDOORSMAN RECOGNITION: This program provides outdoorsmen and women the opportunity to recognize their peers for responsibile stewardship of Arizona's public and private lands, ethical behavior in the outdoors, or selfless acts of sportsmanship. I think someone who knows steve should go on the game and fish website and nominate him for this award.

I only wear rubber boots if i know its going to be muddy or possibly deep snow. It makes sense that people use them for scent control, only because rubber is non-pourous.

The Arizona Game and Fish Commission (AGFD) has voted in support of a Congressional push to remove the gray wolf from the Endangered Species list. The Commission sees this as a great oppportunity to reintroduce gray wolves to the state, and for residents to help manage the animal. Personally, I would be happy to see the Wolf on the hunt list for 2012!

Great Buck, Gotta love taking days off work to get out and scout...unless you are a full-time scout, then you've got it made... -

I think just about anyone would want to mount a 19lb rainbow, that is a trophy.

1. Der's only one God, ya know. 2. Don't make dat fish on yer mantle an idol. 3. Cussing ain't Minnesota nice. 4. Go to church -- even when yer up nort. 5. Honor yer folks. 6. Don't kill. Catch and release. 7. Der's only one Lena fer every Ole. No cheatin! 8. If it ain't yer Lutefisk, don't take it. 9. Don't be braggin' about how much snow ya shoveled. 10. Keep yer mind off yer neighbor's hotdish. Most of my family is from Minnesota, so those of you who are from up der or know someone from up der will appreciate this. But i'm not so sure about #6....anyways, hope ya'll enjoy.

This last elk season, a group of us were drawn for unit 22North rifle hunt in late november and there seemed to be a differing opinion on when we needed to be out to our hunting spot, set up, ready to glass the area in hopes to see some signs of bulls. I like to sit high on a hill and glass valleys and other hillsides and then set up a plan to move in closer for the shot. So I wanted to get a poll and a few expert opinions on how early every gets out to they're hunting spot? TC

Thanks for the Photos. Those are some great shots. TC

Congrats. That deserves a lot of respect. There are not a lot of hunters who will first of all, elk hunt alone and second pack and tent up alone at the rim. Lots of respect to you. TC
