Jethro and Earl are out hunting. After a long walk uphill, Jethro grabs his chest and falls to the ground. Earl panics and calls 911 on his cellphone. He tells the operator that Jethro had a heart attack and isn't moving. The operator says " now calm down sir" The first thing you need to do is make sure your friend is dead. Earl says, "ok" and after a brief silence the operator hears a gunshot. Earl comes back on the phone and says " ok, I'm sure he's dead now, what next?"

Hey all, After my father passed away, i was left with 3 hounds, 5 or 6 year old blue tick with papers put not registered and his two 3 year old sons that have about a 1/4 walker in them. I am no longer able to keep them. Does anyone know of a rescue or someone who wants them? The bluetick was on a few hunts and did well but that was a few years back before my dad got sick. Thetwo younger ones showed promise on a drag but things went to heck before they were able to be taken out. Any help would be appreciated.

Sweet and sour 2011 archery elk hunt in unit 1
db cooper replied to huntlines's topic in Elk Hunting
I carry a skateboard helmet cam in order to document stalks etc.... Next time, I leave an animal to get help, i'm gonna place that camera to cover my trophy. Just an idea..whose time may have come, unfortunately. -
Johnny Stewart Attractor II call
db cooper replied to makaio333's topic in Predator Hunting and Trapping
Called in a nice bobcat with this the other day, no shot though. Good for working river bottoms and washes. imo -
That lion if, if not mistaken, was killing sheep just to kill and would eat very little. Game an Fish stepped in and took it out to save the sheep. The lion got the thrill of killing and it seems to me that it was very easy for him. Same goes for that lion in the Harquahalas. Mama was killed and baby took to whacking anything that came into Sunset Canyon Catchment. Like some people, some animals just need killing. BTW, if its on the net then it must be true, right!

Ok, for all you wild outdoors people: What have you seen or heard to make you think there is something to it? I'll start. A couple years ago, I was solo during the OTC elk hunt near Holbrook. After tracking a small herd for hours, I came to a spot where they approached a series of washes but instead of entering them, they made a hard 90 degree turn away. I walked up to the edge of the wash and as I stood there, it sounded as if a dozen apes were chattering away at me. I looked into the trees and brush and could see nothing and since it was getting dark, I walked the longest 3 or 4 miles ever walked by a man, back to my truck. A week later in the same area, I heard a couple of screams that just flat out bothered me. The volume was spooky and you could hear the diaphragm of this thing rattle as it screamed away. A few minutes later, I ran into four hunters ,in a Dodge, and they pulled over and asked me, a lone hunter on foot, "what is the quickest way out of here?" They had fear in their eyes but didn't say a thing. And back in 90 or 91, I saw an 8 foot tall black bipedal ape cross in front of my truck. These stories are true, so help me. If this thread takes off, I'll tell my grandfather's stories, too.

Any ideas: What would stash a full grown 3x3 mule deer 20ft up a tree? A lion? If so, I know there are a heck of a lot of dog men that'll want to know where this occurred. FYI: a similar thing happened on Escudia and is documented in the book "Mogollon Monster".

Hate to break it to you, but I am now in possesion of said elk. I saw the whole thing go down while i Was "getting off my plane" and decided neither party deserved such a trophy. A pull on this cord, a tug on that and I landed within knife throwing range of that monster. My 16" saw toothed rambo knife complete with survival kit in handle, carefully strapped to my ankle, made short work of it. As soon as I'm done hunting, I'll post some pictures and you all will see. just wait, you all will see! Crow for all but DB Cooper who shall dine on elk tenderloins! Case closed, IF you can find me!

You should have a metallic cutout made of that second picture, where you are silhouetted against the sky, it would make a kick a** wall hanging.

In order to avoid unsavory situations such as this, I specifically target small, undersized, antler challenged representatives of the species I am hunting. It saves me so much trouble.

They Call me Hunter by Hunter Wells
db cooper replied to wklman's topic in Hunting and Outdoors-related books
This is an awesome book. I am proud to say that the tiny little blurb about " some good ol' boys in south phoenix with a few good dogs..." refers to my Dad (RIP). I was shocked to see that you cant touch it for less than $78 now a days. -
Mangum, There is a thread called "What's in a name" ,under Misc Coues, in which members are explaining their handles. You should post a blurb about your name there.

Obviously, a prime example of the rarely seen Southern AZ sasquatch (Gigantopithicus Blacki Arizonus).

Keep laughing........One day, if you are lucky, you will see.

I agree, use a TSX, loaded for no expansion cuz I would never have fmj ammo on my person in the field, in case I run into 2 or 4 legged coyotes!

Back in 2007, 3 or 4 drivers making the Prescott run for work, reported seeing a black mountain lion in the early morning off Iron Springs Rd, I believe. Two of them told my father what they saw without knowledge of each other's stories.

Whats In A Name
db cooper replied to GameHauler's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
Using this name, I hijacked an airplane and parachuted into the Pacific Northwest to hunt sasquatches with my rambo knife, but that was a long time ago. I use a slingshot, now. -
Saturday, I took my beautiful woman, completely new to hunting, out for a ride in 6a. I was hoping to show her some elk and deer. Of course, we ended up seeing three mulies running together, each was bigger than anything I'd ever seen before! Two awesome 4x4s and I guess you'd call it a 5x5. It was a wide and tall 4x4 extending 3-4 inches past the ears on each side with a 6"-8" point on each side going straight down and some velvet hanging. Monsters and they were in one of those areas that everyone just flies on past to get to "the good spot"! Of course, just like the time I saw the Mogollon Monster, I forgot my camera. Anyone ever notice, how bringing a newbie triggers these kinds of things to happen? I can not get her to realize that this doesnt happen everyday! Now for the impossible! Anyone else see a group of bucks resembling these in 6a? PM me, if you think you know them and we'll compare notes.

Hey all, I want to take the kids up north to hear some elk but I'm not much of an elk hunter. Any suggestions as to time and areas? Thanks!
