Hey guys the first meeting was last night in Yuma and was wondering if anybody attended? Meetings in Mesa and Flagstaff are next week. Please attend these meetings and let's try to stop the AZGFD from changing our hunt structures. As most of you probably know they want to cut Dec. coues tag#'s by 90% and Sept. archery Bull tags by 50% and move these hunts to dates that offer less oppertunity to harvest an animal but increase tag #'s to offer more hunter oppertunity($$$$$$$ for the AZGFD) These sugested changes are already printed & in the new hunt regs for 2006/2007, the only way we will make a differce is to show up at theses meetings and have standing room only and tell the department we don't want to sacrifice our quality hunts we have now for more oppertunity to hunt during a poor time of year. Check the game and fish website for info on upcomming meetings in your area and please attend. Archery any elk hunts beging Nov.24 2006...... WHAT A JOKE!!! It is all up to us to not let this happen!!! Geoff

WHATS UP WITH 6A THIS YEAR?!?!?!
coueskiller replied to GRONG's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Josh, As we both know the big bucks of 6A are far and few between. It is much easier for all you southern boys to just stay down in your neck of the woods. 6A is a big NASTY unit that requires a whole lot of scouting and some serious leg work to get back in where these big older age class buck live. But heck all of the rim units in Northern Az. hold some huge coues bucks, they are just alot harder to find in the nasty, steep thick stuff. Im with Josh on Sycamore, boy that's one nasty MOFO but it holds a bunch of coues deer as do all of the canyons in the rim country. Geoff Lloyd -
Move 50% of the early archery elk tags to late hunts to provide more hunt opertunity????? This whole proposal is total BS!!!!! We all better send email and attend meetings to try and stop this BS!!! If there was ever a time for us to have our voices heard it is now!! Geoff

This SUCKS!!!!! This is the 2nd year in a row now that I haven't been drawn for archery stink hogs and turkey well that's a whole other story..... I have applied 10 or 11 times and have still yet to draw a turkey tag. Man it's just getting down right tough to hunt anything in my home state. Congrats to all of you who were sucessfull in the spring draw. Geoff

HEY DAN, I AM BEHIND YOU 100% IN THIS PROPOSAL, AS WE HAVE ALL SEEN THE CONSENTRATION OF HUNTERS IN CERTAIN PORTIONS OF THE UNIT OVER THE LAST 5-7 YEARS. THIS OCT. HUNT WOULD TAKE ALOT OF PRESSURE OFF THOSE DEC. LOVE HUNGRY BUCKS AND ALSO PROVIDE THE ADDED OPERTUNITY TO HUNT IN OCT. FOR THE BUCKS WE HAVE PATTERED IN AUG. AND SEPT. GEOFF LLOYD
