Duck Hunting Etiquette
maydayretrievers replied to CouesPursuit's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
dude I hunt with 5 yr old daughter yes mornings can be more productive but evenings can be great if you want the experience. trying to drag a young kid out of bed at 4 am tough evening hunt easy if you want your kids involved it up to you. their are no guides in Az it so hit and miss don,t waste the money and it can be tough with anyone to claim to be a duck hunting guide its not like we have thousands of ducks flying in like some other states -

My fiancé prefers evening hunts which gets me out more, but have only had limit worthy evening shoots later in the season. Thanks for the reminder to stick with it. Hope you and everyone else have a good season as well. Location location my daughter only 5 so after school hunts great for her and we hunt all private land so it make it nice but when we lived in white mountains oh boy evening hunts were awesome. Bring your dog up sometime or give me a call I hunt with you -
Duck Hunting Etiquette

I think you all have good points. But your always gonna run into a few jerks. But I think the people that do the scouting find places to go with out the hassle the days of fighting on the salt river or pichaco or any other spots that get hammered on the weekends. And you guys all know how to act its training the newbie,s . I had 20 new people this year bringing me their first duck dog to train and training them was harder than training the dog. If you run into others in the field you might pass on your ideas its easier to work with fellow hunters than getting in arguments I hardly hunt mornings anymore the evening hunt can be just as good. Hope everyone has a good season -
well it not that hard I cut 80 elk last year and 30 deer and I can tell u if you take care of the meat in the field you will save yourself a lot of time it amazing what some people drag into the processer covered in dirt hair just lmao. but that at the shop at home here all you need. But remember take your time in the field bone out what u can I would get a vacuum sealer and grinder and some good knifes my wife just uses the kitchen aid grinder attachment and I bought a table at walmart she seals while I cut. 3 to 4 hrs depend on how much grinding u have their are several videos on you tube Just bone it out separate at the seems each muscle group and cut against the grain..

Tips on bird dog training
maydayretrievers replied to az_shooter's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
birds birds and more birds ..and lots of marks. Obedience training is most important if you can,t control the dog. And don,t just go out and blast a shot gun over his head. 1 Obedience here heel sit down and it should be on command not with treats 2 birds and lots of them, intro to gun fire at a distance while throwing marks for the dog.3 steadiness send the dog on his name when making a retrieve don,t let him just take off make him wait to be released on command The biggest mistakes people make is not following a training program they just throw a bunch of ideas against the wall and hope it sticks. Get one of the retriever training books on training retrievers their all about the same just reworded .. Take your time and don,t over train keep it exciting, Do not run a dog or swim a dog till it wants to pass out this creates problems later. only throw a few on land and few on water you want to keep the desire. good luck have fun -
For one that is a tough hunt I have had that hunt last 2 yrs in a row send you a pm

graves Labradors out of surprise is pretty good breeder and they have all their health clearance's Just remember any lab breeder you consider should have the following OFA Hips, eyes are cerf, and EIC clear are 3 min requirements on the parents,,if they don,t have those find another breeder.. As for that chocolate male I trained it and I do believe he sold that dog already
