I've bought them from Auto parts stores, you can also pick them up from Amazon. You likely know this but buy them for your tire size. If it's going to be really hairy, run all 4. Ive generally run lower profile on the fronts (cables vs rear chains) so that when I turned it won't hit my frame or rub the wheel wells or hit the upper ball joint and/or control arm <--but this depends on your back spacing and most of the time you should be fine with OEM Toyota rims/tires. Also, for the most part you can get away with running only rear chains, fronts will help when you need to pull on grades or extra traction in slick or icy conditions. Also buy extra rubber bungee cords as they will help with any additional tightening you need to do. Best thing is put the chains on before you need them and practice before you are in the snow. Some of the newer hybrid are pretty slick on and off and you barely need to hug the tires to get them on. Sounds like a fun trip in January.

New Mexico Muzzleloader Success!
SWDesertRat replied to Kaffer62's topic in Muzzleloader hunting for Coues Deer
Awesome job with making the most of the time you had. Neat country. Thanks for sharing -
Both of these units will provide what you're looking for without having to drive to a southern unit, and are 1.5 hours (max of 2 hours for northern end of 19b) drive from valley and have decent pig herds. Good luck, let us know what unit you draw.

great job Shelvin, It was awesome to watch you keep the bow drawn for so long as well as the incredible job you did repositioning yourself and moving to the right while at full draw with an incoming bull. You rocked it under pressure. You earned that bull for sure. Thank you for posting the video and kudos to the guys for putting that video together so well.

Great shots! I wondered if you had gotten out. Thanks for sharing.

No sir. That's why I'm selling them.

Looks like the south east side of Bradshaws.

Stud bull Shelvin. Excellent job on a tough hunt.

Oh come on! There should be a spoiler alert for those of us that haven't had a chance to watch the video yet. Edit: enjoyed the video. Looking forward to your next one. Thanks for sharing your hunt..

Bump for a solid bow and a good guy. I think G5 makes some solid bows and they don't get enough attention.
-
Great pics! Thanks for sharing. You know the person running the other cam across from yours? It'd be cool to see those cats and owl from two different angles.

Bump for some super nice glass.

Sounds like a great trip. Glad you enjoyed NM and thanks for the report. Nothing wrong with staying in Az, it's a good state too.

Yep. The guys with bounced checks that sent in paper apps don't get a second chance.

Black footed ferrets rarely live in locations without prairie dogs, or outside of grasslands. I am confident that it was an Arizona weasel, a subspecies variation of the long-tailed weasel. The picture below was pulled off the internet and I take no credit for it.

What a cool find, hope your cam gets some pics. Sounds like a long-tailed weasel to me, their pelage (hair) varies, yellow with black tip tail sounds spot on though. I usually associate ermines with northern longitudes. Post some pics when you pull your cam.

Getting permission to hunt private land
SWDesertRat replied to ylclaret's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
This is best place to start, there are more than a few counties in AZ that do not have the funding to have parcel information/maps online. You can visit the assessors office in person if it doesn't and review their topo maps and parcel information. Good luck. -
*Monster Goat in the Dirt* 2014 Antelope Hunt
SWDesertRat replied to Flatlander's topic in Antelope Hunting
Looks like a great trip and time with the boys, thanks for sharing with us. Major bonus on the shed too! -
I hope you are sarcastic when you say that. There are good members on CWT who come from Arizonas and NM tribes and reservations, and even if they weren't members here, I find what you said over the top and derogatory and something I don't expect to read on cwt. We're all entitled to our opinions, share your opinions like this somewhere else.

Edgewood, Moriarity, and Xuzax are all similar in terms of climate. A lot of people commute from those areas to ABQ, these areas also get slammed with more snow and often the I-40 gets closed due to weather. Edgewood gets less wind than Moriarity. It's New Mexico, finding authentic cuisine is pretty easy. Not sure what your budget is, or where you'll be staying. The Range Cafe is a local NM chain, original was in Bernalillo, and there are two in Alb, one uptown on Wyoming and the other one mid town on Menaul. Taco Sal off Menaul and Eubank is place to hit for stuffed sopapillas or you can go to Sadie's on 4th Street, or Los Cuates on Lomas, check out The Frontier on Central if you like cinnamon rolls, or get their Frontier Burrito, or Huevos Rancheros. Fun for the family in ABQ area is the BioPark and Aquarium, The Tramway is an experience but you can also drive up to the crest (from Edgewood) of the Sandias. Old Town Plaza has the Rattlesnake Museum and there is also a Natural History Museum and Kid Discovery area close by. See if you can catch an Isotopes baseball game too. Plenty to do and see...PM me for more info if you want it.

Holy smokes! I can't believe this hasn't sold yet. Killer price. These packs are well laid out for pockets and light weight empty. I've comfortably carried 60 lbs in my Kuiu pack with zero issues. Plus deal with confidence with this guy.
