Late December 36C Coues for me.. -
That buck was also taken in 19B the previous year.

I'll keep the story short and sweet. I shot this guy on Labor Day morning last year after 15 (count it) 15 shots! Now I would never admittingly share that too often, but I think laughing at your own humility is good sometimes and it humbles even the best hunters. PLUS, it will justify just how stupid a buck will become when he has a hot doe with him. It started when we saw this buck crossing in front of us at about 1/2 mile with his nose to the ground like a dog trying to find his ball. He crossed over a ridge and my dad & I high-tailed it over there. When we got to the top of the ridge, the buck was sniffin' around this does butt with about 8 other does nearby. We set up for a shot around 300yd, squeezed one off, and missed high. (to save time, I'll give a brief description of each shot after) 2, 3, 4, 5, & 6: on the run, 7: high at about 400yds, 8, 9, 10: on the run, 11 & 12: buck standing broadside at like 250yds, I held perfectly on him, and I have no idea where I shot, 13: clipped his antler, and he spun around like 6x confused and looking for that doe, 14: low, and lucky 15: heart-shot from 372! BOOM! Now I can honestly say that I've never missed more than 1-2 shots at an animal before it was harvested or in another county, so I consider myself a pretty good shooter. I can't tell you what happened to me that day, but if this buck didn't have his nose in this does tail the entire time, I never would have been able to harvest such a dumbass goat. Morale of the story: Practice shooting often. Here is what my dad said about the hunt in an email to close friends: "This was no ordinary Antelope as It absorbed 14 fatel shots before secumming to #15. All joking aside, it is a great buck and even has a bullet hole in his left antler courtesy of " dead-eye". His horns are just shy of 15' and he scores around 72' total." I had a 19B Antelope tag last year and Chad Smith had a majority of the land already. I feel bad for the people who put in for that area, but it was a smart move on the part of AZGFD.

I used a guy named Ryan in Prescott Valley. My dad used him for my brother's antelope last year. (pictured below)
-
I just got my mount back and I wanted to post it on here. The guy did an amazing job & for a reasonable price too.

Well those dang things rarely sit still! You're right though, they were hopes and prayers.

Does anybody else think it's funny that we ran up 25 pages of nonsense on somebody's fake post of the results being up, and now that the results are actually up, we've barely cracked 13 pages. Did we peak too early?

Finally They're UP
Lookin4amonster replied to bonecollector's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Just a straight up tease! When you log on to a forum and there's 16 pages with a title that says "Finally they're up" and in fact, they are not... I expect this out of other sites, but not you guys! -
That beast is unreal! Congrats!

Can we get a post of the video??? -
That deer is a trooper for sitting up straight for pictures.. what a good sport!

I am posting this in behalf of my brother, Jason. He just sent me this picture over an hour ago of the Antelope he killed this morning. It is definitely a unique buck that I can only describe as half typical/half non-typical. Thought I'd share with you guys...

Good eye Rambo... 19B indeed I don't know where exactly wackycouesaddict, unfortunately, I wasn't on the hunt with my family Here is another picture of my dad with the buck...

Alright, I'm gonna be "that guy" this year, and be the one to know the insider who knows when the results will be up.... but a gentleman I know who works for Game & Fish said the results will be up today by 11am (by phone) and posted this weekend (online). If I'm wrong, so be it.. but my hearts a-pumpin'!

I smell a conspiracy!

TOLD YOU GUYS THEY WOULD BE OUT BY 11:00am THIS MORNING!!!
-
Took me 4 hours to get through 4 times... Me: not drawn for antelope or elk Dad: not drawn for antelope or elk Uncle: not drawn for elk Brother: drawn for both antelope and elk Geez.. share the wealth! lol
-
now that's dedication!
-
Wow, 207 users & 89 members on right now.. what's the big deal!?
-
You may think it would be easier but actually it is harder i think because the pages don't load for about 1/2 an hour and there are 4 pages you have to go through. Here is an idea wait untill 1:00 am or 2:00 am and you will finally get through. I'll take a half hour wait right now over not getting through for the past hour! I don't know if it's my timing or what, but the elk gods just do NOT want me to find out my results! lol
-
You know what would make this 1,000x easier.. if they would post the results online like they're supposed to My pinky is numb from hitting redial a bagillion times and not getting through. lol
