Clothing for a Coues backpack hunt

The NeoAir Xtherm is the pad I went with. Sea to summit has a nice one I almost purchased that inflates separately on both sides, but it doesn't have quite as good of an R factor and weighs more. After some research... the NeoAir looks like the best option. The Sea to summit is over .5 pound heavier.

Great info, thank you sir! I see some extra clothing may necessary. As yes, we plan on hiding/burying water shortly prior to the hunt.

Any way to try on or see Kuiu items in stores?... I've done some research and I believe it's all online.

    New Boots

Depending on the area you're hunting... the Danner Pronghorns are the only way I go. Yes, a bit on the pricey side but worth every penny. After intense hikes, my feet are just fine. They're the only thing that holds up to Coues country IMO. Good luck.

Clothing for a Coues backpack hunt

Sweet! Thanks for the info. Yea, I replied to one of your threads earlier. I just bit the bullet on a new Kifaru Fulcrum and the REI Magma 10. One of my buddies in my group is running of the Kifaru multiple man tents so we're set there. And I'm still in the market for a pad since the above mentioned gear took a big hit on the bank account 😂😂

    Kifaru Backpack

Just pulled the trigger on the new Fulcrum with the 26'' hunter frame. I'm only 5'10 and from everything I've read the 26'' is needed if you plan on hauling anything above 100lbs. Good luck!

    Backpacking tent and sleeping bag

Saw this thread and as I was scrolling through I was gonna suggest the Magma 10... Just pulled the trigger on it last week. Super warm and super light weight! Good choice! Have a backpack hunt coming up in December and have no doubt it'll perform well. Cheers

    4A Help

Just looking for a little help in 4A. Me and my dad drew the late rifle bull hunt in 4A this year. We're both pretty familiar with the area but just curious if anyone has any specifics on the locations of elk.... pines or cedars, etc? So far I've taken one scouting trip and the watering holes listed on the game and fish maps haven't panned out. Any info would be much appreciated as this is probably the last time he'll be able to go. Thanks!
