I wonder if the little bear will be lighter colored or will it darken as it ages

I don't know if its the picture angle, your size, or if that bear is a grizzly mix! it looks HUGE! Congrats!

so I'm not a real shed finder meaning its not my only purpose when I'm out and about, but I can't quite understand why I can't find any by accident at least. I spend lots of time hiking in the desert and pines, but only once in my life have I found a shed. I know I'm mostly looking up for critters when I'm walking so I'm sure that's some of it but I also spend plenty of time looking for sign and of course looking where my feet are going. there must be a real science to finding sheds or I'm just unlucky!

LOL. I agree flowers, gift, nice night out. .make it up to her. she will get over it last year me and hubby were on Archery deer hunt walking thru the forest when I realized we both forgot our anniversary the week before but at least we both forgot :0)

update. was up again last weekend. everything looked the same as last year and the year before with people and campers doing the same stuff

we did that once...left our name and # on his cam . the guy called and it was a good chat.

what a morning. had then gobbling from multiple roosts around us. 3 of us surrounded 1 roost and he flew right where no one was. we split up and walked around. I saw some turkeys a few hundred yards off and was making a beeline for them when not even 50 yards in front of me I see a different flock. I hid behind a tree. they turned and walked 20 yards in front of me. the big tom started strutting ams I went to take a shot and my gun didn't fire. I cycled it and quickly got a shot off. I don't know how to post pics from my phone. we measured his beard and base to tip is just shy of 10". Im assuming that's a big older tom. for everyone else out hunting. both mornings birds would call for about an hour after sunlight and then completely shut down. they would go the opposite direction if we called. we located them the 1st morning with an owl call! im super happy to finally see a big tom up close. UPDATE - While I was gone taking my turkey back to camp, my husband and our hunting buddy were chased numerous times by a mama bear with a cub. What they say is definitely true about mama bears. They had to fire 3 different warning shots at her because she kept charging them, but they managed to get away safely and didn't have to harm the bear. Needless to say they were both VERY happy to see me and the rhino when I got back.

we are currently getting bids for a new pool (and had one at our old house) . Seems the consensus is salt chlorinatera work good for first 2-3 years and then don't. most people at that point (myself included at our old pool) just start putting chlorine in. we are leaning towards having a chlorine pool this time around. salt also can be destructive to pool decks and water features. just my experience and 2 cents.

Did you report it to G&F? last year my husband came across a does with an arrow in her head. he took GPS coordinates and gave them to G&F. we've done that a few times over the years with stuff that was illegal.

I personally prefer fixed blades. I do not ever want to lose out on a shot from any sort of malfunction with mechanicals. just my opinion the less moving parts the better. there's so much that can go wrong when hunting and I like the stability of a fixed.

I think I'd pee my pants if I saw a coues that big. he's beautiful and so cool to know there are big monsters roaming around somewhere in AZ

I have to disagree with not needing "rain gear" on an AZ hunt! I will actually have 3 sets of good rain gear (tops & bottoms) for my early bull hunt! it can down right pour and keep on pouring here in September and even though its called rain gear it will still get wet when it rains that much and that hard. I love hunting in the rain. definitely helps hide noise. Last year early Archery it poured (and I mean down right poured) 3 of 4 days my husband helped a friend on his bull hunt. when the friend asked us what he might need for his hunt I said rain gear and he only brought a poncho. he definitely regretted that one.

FYI - I called G&F. She said they were sent out in error and they will be sending the new correct Turkey ones out so just trash the ones that were sent incorrectly.

I received a survey in the mail today for a spring javelina HAM/general hunt. Well...I had a January archery javelina hunt (draw not OTC) and a turkey spring general hunt so I'm a bit confused. I'm thinking they made a mistake with their surveys or ?? Guess I'll give them a call tomorrow. Did anybody else get one of these?

this post has me worried about my upcoming bull hunt. I know how we can follow specific animals closely thru scouting and cameras but the bottom line is the animal or the area (unless private land) doesn't belong to any one person or guide service. I've heard stories like this before and they quite often involve guides. Not sure what that means but because its their full-time job to locate animals doesn't mean I can't scout and hunt the same area. Again from the stories I've read it seems to me that some guide services act like bullies.

Just thought I'd share my turkey mount that I did myself. It's now hung front and center right in my entryway when you walk in our front door (not that I'm proud or anything!)
