I was out for a couple days and snapped some pics. I have to say it's nice when someone says "Did you see anything?" and instead of just a "yes" I can show them some of the things I saw. What you don't get to see is another 2 groups of bulls, a buck, turkeys, and a couple coyotes. The bulls all had voracious appetites as it appears they are prepping themselves for battle. I was also treated to a little symphony last night. It sounded like a young bull testing out his vocals, but it was music to my ears and a sound I really look forward to hearing each year. To all with bull tags, you are lucky Check out his left side turkey foot! I really love this picture! I really don't know what I did to deserve her sticking her "tongue" out at me! The antelope pics were taken from my camp on morning number one (there were 2). That's a nice way to start the day! Peek-A-Boo

I'm up for trades. I can do either of the requests above. Not quite sure about a 340 class (or tying one to a tree), but I can get you on a good bull. Cows are no problem and a girl on a junior hunt is right up my alley. I love helping kids. Meanwhile I'm watching video after video of gutting deer and elk. What fun!

Great job Amanda!

Absolutely beautiful.

LMAO. Sorry I watched the last video and all I keep seeing is Edward Scissorhands. LMAO. I can't stop laughing...sorry. Shoot... I guess I made the mistake of watching the first 7-minute video. I seriously got a very good education from the first video and then I pull up the 2nd video and I'm still laughing. I don't think it was meant to be funny, but I find it hilarious. Anyhow, looks like I missed the seminar. I saw it and eyed it, but honestly I thought it was more how to prepare the hide for a mount. I have a friend who swears I could pull off the gutless method alone, but it's one of those things that hands experience would definitely have made me more confident. After all that goes into the hunt, I would never want to lose the meat. I'm entering my 15+ deer hunt and I have yet to tag a deer. Opportunities on good bucks (my idea of good is not a booner either) have plain kicked my rear. I tried going back and counting and at minimum it's 15 hunts. I've always been determined to do it on my own in my own way, but I will say it is time for me to tag a deer this year. Enough already.

CONGRATS MADY! You have an absolutely beautiful MONSTER bull! Kudos to you for practicing with your weapon and making such an awesome shot! Many men can't make that kind of shot, but you did

Smallest deer ever!
naturegirl replied to Hunter Rath's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
I caught a glimpse of something that reminded me of this post when I was out. I went to the edge to look down into a small canyon and this "deer" took off from down below. It looked like either a dwarf antelope or deer, but it definitely ran like a mule deer. Of course, my hand couldn't get to my camera. Heck my eyes barely saw it. This looked brown to me but it was down below me and it was darker at the bottom. Again, just a glimpse but sure made me think of this post because the height was off and it had shorter legs. This was in 6a. Maybe one day someone will get a pic to share. -
**Question for the camo wearing ladies on coues whitetail
naturegirl replied to hoghntr's topic in Classified Ads
I got 800. I needed cooler weather boots. I wore them for many hiking miles the last few to try them out and they felt good. Not quite as light as what I'd like, but I think I wore ankle height boots for too many years. -
It was me and I was only shooting with my camera. I saw yotes twice (but they saw me first) and they were not interested in posing for a Kodak moment...lol

Great coues and I love your archery bull!

either any day and I'd be happy. I usually like the freaks, but that is some mass!

Cheapest I found them on the internet is about $140. I'll take $90. Brand new in unopened plastic wrapped box. They'd make a great Christmas present

**Question for the camo wearing ladies on coues whitetail

Thought about this one some more...I don't spend big money on my camos. I'd rather use it for rain gear, boots, pack, and other equipment. I recently bought the Under Armour Brow Tine boots. I haven't worn them hiking yet, but they were comfy in the store. I didn't like the price, but my choices were limited. Men have about 100 boot options and we have like 6. -
Your wife has a beautiful buck Great mount!

Men. .ughh. ughh. When we wear that, u will wear a leaf. Seriously...comfortable is what I recommend. Comfort means happy. Walmarts on the SE side have them at times (not yet as of last week). Its seasonal and they are cheap. Lightweight but u can layer. I personally only wear mens regular plain cotton camo shirts. Women's have funny neck shapes and I don't like them with binos, pack, and bow hunting. I don't want my skin seen or rubbed by pack straps, etc. -

shopping, hunting and camos..some of my favorite subjects..lol I actually really like bdu's. Cheap and come in short length. Wash then a lot And they will get softer. I'm all over the board. They didn't have much ladies camos when I started. I still wear some men's but am slowly changing over to women's since the waistbands are no longer up to my neck. I like sportmans and bass pro. I've even found good men's camos at dicks I wish I had more of. A lot depends on her fit. I'm guessing she'd be a small/med. I'm a medium and your girl wears a smaller size than me. Tight pants don't work well with hunting. Pockets are very important to me. The more the better. I hem my own sometimes since I'm on the tall end of being short... lol EBAY is a great place. I've gotten many good deals there. U can try some on in store and then go online. don't forget wally world either. They have women's too at times -
I too watched it when I was young. Sure does bring back memories. RIP

To each their own, but if I knew a guide was in the area, I would run and find a new area. This is from a female perspective and someone who hunts alone. I will not fight a "gang" of anyone so I can shoot an animal. So yeah, if they want to use any type of intimidation tactics they will always win with me and I hope they sleep well at night.

Here's my 2 cents. Shot placement is critical. Sometimes people luck out with dead animals from bad shots and sometimes people make good shots, but the animal doesn't go down. To me what is most important is what happens before the hunt. This is where I think there would be less wounded animals. Many people think they know their equipment. Study vital pictures of the animal you are hunting before the hunt. I always have a lion and bear tag. The chances are very small I will ever see one in bow range, but I still know where their vitals are. Practice, practice, and practice your weapon of choice. I will never shoot 60 yards on an animal, but I practice it in my backyard. This picture below shows my arrow flight at 60 yards. This doesn't matter much in the desert, but it the pines it does. I was pretty surprised when I was aiming for the target and hit the swing set instead. Good lesson. Aim low (not midline). If you shoot an animal, quickly knock another arrow for a follow-up shot. Picture #1 - I'd wait for one of the three to make a step or two one way or the other. Picture #2 - I'd wait for him to put his head up so his elbow moves. Picture #3 - Again, I'd wait for him to hopefully move forward a few steps so he's broadside and not quartering toward me.

Prayers for both of you.

Never seen that one before and it's okay if I don't -

There is a little more to this story that I will share after archery season. I haven't given up, but for now due to circumstances beyond my control it's on hold. Still disappointed, but I've now had time to sit on it and talk to others who are more knowledgeable than me, which helped. Plus I am lucky just to have seen it, but I really want a picture
