A few years ago someone I know saw a rabbit chase a snake up a tree right here in queen creek. No kidding.

Don't be afraid to ask for help. People are more than willing to help if you ask. I've helped people and people have helped me. This works much better if you have been a CWT member for awhile and didn't just register to ask for help. When I had my Coues hunt last year, I had lots of people offer help, but what I didn't like was when a new member gave me the exact same information that a long-time member gave me. The new guy who posted for help for the same hunt as me took the info given to him through PM and gave it to me. I called him out on it because I didn't think it was his info to give. My advice is read G&F's website on where to start in the unit, then branch off from there. Get a good map. Use your feet and binos and spend time in the unit.

I talked to another woman in Illinois who had the same problem as my mother-in-law with the slide on the LCP. She just plain wasn't strong enough to easily rack the slide or even load the bullets in the mag. I'll continue to relay my opinion when it is asked about the LCP, but in the meantime I am seeking more opinions (from women...not men). I have yet to talk to a woman who loves the LCP, but I'm sure they are out there. I think most of them just say "okay honey whatever you think," but that is solely my opinion.

Spot and stalk, tree stand or blind?

Odds Are better Sitting Still. I Have Difficulty Sitting So I Carry A LighT Portable Blind On My Pack Sometimes So i Can Walk And Sit. -
I have two pistols (Taurus 357 and Ruger LCP). What I really want is a small revolver that is comfortable to carry, but will take down a bear if I need it to. I love the size of the LCP. I prefer the reliability & simplicity of a revolver, but I don't like the size of the Taurus. This would be strictly a self-defense weapon. I personally no longer think the LCP is a good option for women. I have a hard time with it and I'm stronger than most. A female family member had great difficulty with her LCP, which means she needed a man to help and that totally defeats the purpose in my opinion. Please don't recommend a good gun for a man. I'm 5'4". What fits a man of 6' does not fit a woman who is smaller in the waist for carrying and the hands for shooting. I may be asking for something that doesn't exist, but I'd appreciate any suggestions you have. I'm bummed I can't carry a sidearm while bow hunting in Illinois.

So what kind of spider is it? Quite a variety of answers...lol

My next out of state hunt I'm pretty sure I want to be in upstate NY with my other cousins. Any of you have ideas on how to help with ticks? I can handle most things here that I've come across, but the thought of ticks on me does not thrill me whatsoever. Makes me itch every time I think of them actually and we know what happened to Amanda's husband. I've been told we must check for ticks every night where I'm going. I've also been told that eastern whitetails taste a whole lot better than what we grow here..lol Anyone else agree with this? PS - public land for me this trip

When the kitchen was remodeled, the old cabinets became his reloading/gun room. We hired the same person to hang them that hung the new kitchen cabinets by floating him some extra $$. He was a professional and it still took him at least a half day to install the uppers and lowers, but it's done correctly and nothing has fallen off the walls so far and we shall see how hard they are to remove when he takes them down next week

How about a little good luck to early season Illinois bow hunters too I'm going fishing and hunting on my trip. Why choose when you can have both?

My female family member could not pull the slide open without great difficulty. I'm thinking it's finger strength issues? We were plunking rounds out in the forest and I watched & listened to her frustration and then watched her hand it off to a man to do and then me to do. This was not her first time shooting the LCP either. I'm relaying info is all. PS - I'd recommend a laser if you do go with it. I do like that addition on mine.

I'm going to add a little more.. I know 4 people who own this gun. Two men liked the girls' LCPs so much that they bought their own. The men love the gun and the women like I said are not fond of it. It's not that it's not doable, but there must be better. I'm looking into the Springfield 3.3" XD-S single stack .45 for myself. Not decided for sure, but it interests me. PS - Maybe you should let her pick out a new purse (Gun Toten Mamas) has some good ones. Pricey, yes, but many have the capability of locking if you have little ones. A purse meant for a gun may help her carry more.

PS - shoot me an e-mail when you are ready for the repair. I lost all my e-mail addresses a couple months ago when my computer crashed and you don't receive PMs here

I would not buy this gun for any female in family, including my 19-year-old daughter. I know two women personally who are not overly fond of the gun. Yes it is super easy to carry. I can't argue that one at all, but the mechanics of the gun are tough for female hands. My 2 cents.

Happy Happy Birthday!

Very nice! Thanks for sharing!

That's a very good idea. I've saved my change over the years for a big non-hunting vacation, but that never happened. I can now make that my hunting fund jug! I didn't realize exactly how much each tag was until I had to buy them myself not to mention I want to do more out of state hunts in the future. Cool idea - Thank you!

Great Hunting Sidearm Or CCW Pistol $250
naturegirl replied to Deserttrecker's topic in Classified Ads
Glad the gun is selling I thought about it for my older daughter who is bugging me to get a gun, but she wants PINK (and needs lessons first)! -
Awesome! Congratulations to you both! Nice to see some ladies filling their tags

You have good reason to be proud. That's a great bull and a great shot

I recommend Game Ears for you. My dad was an avid snake hunter who was very hard of hearing. I never really understood it myself him out there rattler hunting when he couldn't hear them half the time. I do not like those things at all. I've seen too many of them over the years. I wear protection down south (see my avatar). I think the timber rattlers tend to surprise you even more because we aren't used to seeing them as much as the desert rattlers. Be careful. You know the drill look over rocks & logs before you step, etc, and don't sit down I guess if you don't have your Game Ears on...lol

Sure are skinny without their fur.
