Beautiful! -
At the October meeting of the Southern Arizona Wildlife Callers' (SAWC) meeting in Tucson Matt Braun, from G&F, was the quest speaker. He mentioned upcoming transplanting of antelope to Units 35A & B, followed by transplants to 34A & B and then hoping to get some for Unit 31 also. He said 135 antelope were going to the 34's & 35's. Didn't say how many for 31.

Way too cool! I had heard stories of a white javelina but just couldn't picture one. Now I can. Thanks for sharing. Congrats!

Congrats to both of you. Loved your story. Tell Peg I said hello.

I vote for full length zipper. I too would like them to be long.

I use gloves for large game but not for small game. When hunting small game I don't carry my hunting pack and that's where I keep my gloves.

Your brother will be included in my prayers.

Back in the fall when I posted the story of my husband and me getting our first sandhill cranes you wanted to know how they tasted. Well my husband grilled one of our three cranes this evening. The results...Yum! I'm known to be a picky eater and let me tell you sandhill crane does not taste like chicken, Nope, not at all, it tastes like beef, well flavored beef at that. We were very pleased. My husband cubed the breast and thighs, wrapped them in bacon and skrewed them with bell peppers and onions. His only seasoning was season salt and pepper. Next weekend my husband is going to cook up the other two cranes. Now my problem is who do I invite for dinner. These sandhill cranes are to good not to share. My husband has really not been into hunting crane but did it because I wanted to. Well tonight's dinner has won him over. He mentioned during dinner that he looks forward to getting more crane. Yahoo! We usually hunt only one of the three days but maybe now we'll hunt two.

To the ladies who shared your stories, great job. The thrill of your hunt came through in each of the stories. Thank you for sharing them with all of us. Amanda, thank you for organizing this event. And thank you to the many others who helped in making this event such a success. I believe the stories above demonstrate how this event can be life changing. We need more people getting into hunting and this event is promoting just that. As a mentor, I have experienced the empowerment of how this event introduces women, who may not otherwise have such an opportunity, try hunting. Please continue to make this event happen year after year. See ya next year.

I finally received a game camera for Christmas!!! My husband kept saying "It will just get stolen." But my mother-in-law came through for me. I can't wait to take it out. I was pleased to find and read over the information above and found it to be very helpful. Being that the above info is 2-3 years ago I would like to know if anyone has anything to add. My camera is a Micro Infrared Digital Scouting Camera. I am a newbie with a game camera. I plan to go out tomorrow to purchase a couple of SD Cards, SD card reader, box and lock. Anything else I need? Any suggestions on type of box and lock to get? If you have any more ideas on set up to add to the above info I'd appreciate that info too.
