i'd buy a forest service map and find an area that doesn't have any roads going into it. fyi, a mule is a much better option in those mountains than any horse would ever be.

limited out this morning . probably going back out monday to get some more.a friend of mine cooked em up for lunch and man were they good. -
you might be in luck my friend i just checked my freezer and found a couple of capes from years past. it was either one of mine or my brothers but thats ok i just called him and he said i could get rid of them.the only problem is that they've probably have been in there for over 5 years so i can't garantee how good they are. you'll have to ask one of the taxidermy guys how long they last frozen. IM me if interested. thx Wade

what i don't like is that when you start limiting what you say around people then you limit your opportunities to change there perspectives about hunting. people aren't stupid, they know what hunting is all about, bang, animal dead.when i speak from my heart and am open with what i say i change more minds then when i try to sugarcoat it by useing fluffy words.most people see through these words and call me out on it when i use them.i never pull any punches and tell them straight up the way i feel.i tell them i hunt because i love to. i eat what i kill because i know where its been and who butchered it (myself). sometimes a little eye opening is good for people. P.S. "harvest" is what you do with corn, beets, barley, oats and alfalfa in the fall

i've always been proud to say i'm a hunter and have always felt that the word kill is an appropriate word to use when describing my hunts. what we are doing is putting ourselves in smaller and smaller boxes by limiting the words we use outta fear someones "feelings" are gonna get hurt. i think just the opposite of what you guys do. when we hide behind words like harvest, take or bag we restrict open and free speech and give into the oppositions arguements that they are right. i hate political correctness. say what you mean and mean what you say.

right on Rembrant, i agree completly, i don't own a trail cam and probably never will. i have way more fun going into an area not knowing exactly what is in there and that is fine with me. i think what it does is that it takes alot of the "hunt" out of hunting.

i was quail hunting with my brother and a friend in 36b last january and found a human skull while i was walking back to my truck. after i helped the sheriff get back into where i was hunting we found the rest of the bones scattered down the drainage he was in. he was an illegal who had died during the summer months.my brother found his wallet with pictures of him and everything.it was quite an experince to say the least.

Jacque Coustou? -
well i finally decided to mount up a couple of bucks i had from years past. it was a little bit of work but i got them done and they came out pretty nice. they're both from southern AZ and the one is kinda unique. it has an extra point by its left eyeguard and the eyeguards are split at the top.

basically a necked down .308 to 7mm-.284 cal. i've never had one but it sounds like a good kids or ladies gun.probably not alot of recoil to it since it has the shorter 308 case.

the reason archery hunting is subserviant to gun hunting is because most of the archery guys gun hunt as well bobbyo so they can maximize their time in the field. so if they don't get a deer archery hunting they can get one with a gun.if you make a person choose between a gun hunt or bow hunt i'd say 75% would gun hunt.thats what dick was saying in his letter to game and fish.if you make archery a draw you'd lose a bunch of hunters because they would quit bowhunting and strictly put in for rifle because they were forced to make a choice.personally i think there needs to be a change somewhere with archery tags.i've heard and seen more than just 1 case where guys are shooting a deer with an archery tag and then getting one in the rifle season too. its been way too easy for people to do this and something needs to change.i'd say a mandatory physical check in with both rifle and bow hunts would do the trick.that way they can check their records and catch people trying to buck the system.

that totally reminds me of my cousins back in Minnesota they are the biggest rednecks you'd ever meet.
