The one thing i do to find an animal is to sneak up closer so i'm not shootin at him from the back 40.its called stalking.
-
a trail cam lets you see what kind of animals are in an area while a guy with a radio in the next canyon can call you and say hey the big one is over here come and shoot it.with a trail camera you still have to go out and find the animal and with a radio the animal is already found.personally i like to hunt by myself or just with one other person. i get more satisfaction out of finding an animal and killing it myself then with a bunch of help from other people. that way nobody can say i wussed out and needed my hand held to find a big animal.

thats awesome! congrats on the deer.

i'd glass right below them rocky bluffs on those furthest mountains. bucks tend to bed below them in the shade.

well i went out scouting this mornin for a friend of mine since his son has an early youth hunt coming up. i went into a spot i've never hunted before and after 2 hours of walking and a mile and a half hike in i got setup glassing a couple of promising canyons. wouldn't you know it the first thing i glass up is a big bodied 95-100" class buck all by himself still in velvet. man,if only i had that kinda luck scouting my own areas.

yeah, that was a day to remember. i glassed up this pond and i swear there was over 150 ducks on it. i've never seen 1 with that many birds on it. So when i got up to it and crawled over the berm i spotted him about 15 yards out and with my first shot when they flew up i hit 3 birds and got 2 more with my last 2 shots. talk about an awesome day. the other birds were mostly widgeons, mallards and ringnecks.
