Hunters are worried about global warming
wklman replied to az4life's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
so what makes us retards? because we don't follow in lock step behind your so called science. I get information from many different resources and make my decisions based on more than just one conclusion. these "scientists" can't even predict tomorrows weather let alone whats gonna happen in 20 years. you forget that during the industrial revolution that us horrible people burned coal and kerosene to stay warm and run machinery. why isn't the sky falling in on us now because of what our forefathers did back then.why? because God has this wonderful thing thats called an environment that heals and protects itself. look at where the atom bomb was dropped.you'd think that if our ecosytem was as fragile as these people say that an area like that wouldn't be livable today.the one thing i don't like about todays education system is that there is no more free thinking.if you have a different opinion or don't believe in something they shove down your throat your called retarded. -
Hunters are worried about global warming
wklman replied to az4life's topic in Political Discussions related to hunting
I think global warming is bunk. there's nothing man can do to change the climate. swamps put out more Co2 than all the cars together on earth do.theres been so many things that "science" has proven and then been disproven that you can't believe anything that they put out.scientists say that the ocean water is warming so they put thermostats on the bottom of the ocean and come to find out over the last 5 years the temp in the oceans has actually cooled down.the only true constant in life is God. -

this is my favorite buck that I shot back in 1991.Its my favorite because of what i had to go thru to get it. it was on a december tag where on the 2nd weekend of the hunt i was out with my brother on saturday morning and had a 80" buck standing broadside at 90 yards and missed him 3 times completly. later on in the evening we jumped a monster 4x4 at 20 yards and i missed him twice running. to say i was totally dejected would be an understatement. i had work all that next week and didn't get out till the following sunday. it had rained saturday night so it was quite foggy and wet that morning. as i walked along i kept reminding myself to look for the crosshairs and put them on the chest if i got a chance at another deer.well i had hiked about a mile and a half in and had sat down to get a drink of water.as i lowered my canteen i caught a face looking at me from under a oak tree. i thought to myself that "man, that looks like a deer." so i slowly put my water down and picked up my binoc's. as i looked at him i caught sight of his eyeguards and thought he was a spike since the rest of his rack was hidden by the brush. i put down the binoculars and picked up my rifle and put the crosshairs on him. at the recoil of the shot he erupted from behind the tree and shot up the cut he was in. i took 2 more running shots at him before he disappeared in some oaks. my heart sank, i couldn't believe i could have missed such an easy shot.i reloaded and watched the saddle he had headed up to see if he would top out. after a couple of minutes not seeing any movement i went to look for any signs of a hit. when i came around an oak tree about 80 yards up in the cut here lay my buck shot dead thru the neck. I let out a whoop and a hollar so load that it musta echoed thru the canyon and into the next county. i've shot bigger deer since then but this one will always hold that special place as number one. salt and feed no more in 2009
wklman replied to wardsoutfitters's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
what makes me a hypocrite? just because i have a difering view? this is called a discussion forum not a follow what everybody else says forum. i don't have to go along with what the crowd does. if there wasn't resrictions put on hunting there wouldn't be any animals left today to hunt. look at what happened before game laws were put in place. deer, elk, turkeys, bison and antlope were nearly wiped out completly by over hunting. look, we have enough tools at our disposal to put the odds in our favor completly when it comes to getting an animal. I draw the line when you have to change an animals natural feeding habits to kill it. -

Great!!! lets ban this stuff once and for all!! we shouldn't have to belittle ourselves by using bait. for one,i'd be ashamed to say i used bait to take an animal. what do you tell your friends when they ask you how you took a certain trophy? well i put out some corn and salt and waited for it to come in.i'd be ridaculed to no end if any of my hunting friends found out i used it take an animal.lets use some common sense here. theres lots of other states that have banned baiting and they are doing just fine without it. there's absolutly no argument for using it in this day and age. you can't say that you need the animal for food or survival. your only using it too stack the odds in your favor more. -
lady luck smiled on me and she gave me a bonus point for elk and a unit 13A rifle tag for antelope. it was my 3rd choice so it looks like i will be doing some heavy duty driving to go scouting.

i don't think they'll be able to get much outta UPS besides a refund for the cost of shipping but i am sure that UPS will probably reimburse cabela's for some part of their loss because they're such a huge account for them.
