Interesting, they seemed to forget to send that to me as well!

    Some May velvet!

You should be a little careful next time with your picture taking. That's 36C for sure!
  3. Special Note: Lance called me and said that his computer just crashed. Those of you who emailed or PM'ed him, he may not get it before next weekend. If you have anything you'd like to talk with him about (details etc....) he can be reached @ 928-607-9380 Wish I could be there. Have fun, boys and girls! Jake
  4. My point wasn't that all states were alike. I'm just wondering about those states who allow kids that aren't even old enough to attend school but big game hunting is completely acceptable. Can anyone answer that for me? I guess it is somewhat of a rhetorical one!
  5. This kid killed his first deer at age 5??? That can't be legal! I don't know, though. They do things a little "south" down there so it wouldn't surprise me. Enormous animal, even if he did get a little "chucky" in the pic.

The early hunter gets the bird!

I must say that I had a great time. I've been extremely busy over the last 6 months and had 1 day to do it all. I figured if anyone could get me on a bird first thing in the morning it would be Lance. He did just that! I figured since Lance's son and a couple of friends came down and shot all my big coues deer last year I'd return the favor and try to put a dent in their turkey population a bit ; ) Thanks again Jake

    Turret Info....

Jamaro, As soon as you get your new scope and turrets, check out www.biggameinfo.com It calculates all of your variables (minus elevation) and also gives you how many clicks at whatever distance while taking into consideration your preferred zero. It's pretty darn accurate. I've only had to adjust on a couple distances (way out there, and only a click here or there). Good luck.

LOST RIFLE DURING LATE PIG HUNT

I found one while hunting once. Turned it into the Sheriffs Dept. Found out it was stolen. At least that's what they told me. Good job for doing the right thing.

    Feral Hogs in Az!?

This is my sister-in-law. She shot this hog back in '99. Not sure the weight but it was HEAVY! My nephew, her son, shot one a few months later in the same area that was a little bigger. We lost the roll of film on that pig. Sorry this picture is so bad. We used to see them everytime we wanted to. Brian (azpackhorse) is right. There's a jerk out in Marana that wiped out the herd. Supposedly there's a few left and they may take hold but developers and morons don't help. I saw a small herd in 2003 but that's the last time. I also haven't been out there as much.

    best custom built rifle

Why would you spend $2,000 on a custom built rifle and shoot factory ammo through it? I know this was sort of touched upon but that's just odd to me.

    New Bow?

I'm not here to say that PSE makes a terrible product. Like I said, I shoot AR and happen to really like the bow. I just don't like misleading statements and advertising. Those who understand the basics of archery can see that although they have two bows that look similar (cosmetically), they aren't even close to being the same. There's several reasons your AR shoots better than your old Carerra. It's probably a combination of better shooting habits made over the years, less aggressive cam, more ergonomically correct grip, MORE brace height, better manufacturing coupled with better materials, less hand shock.....etc. I could go on forever but I won't. There's a reason PSE (and many other manufacturers for that matter) went away from designing bows with shorter brace height. That reason is because of 2 words- parallel limbs. PSE has now designed a bow with parallel limbs and a shorter brace height; something tried but never much of a success. I give them props for making what appears to be a superior product in it's OWN class. Some people place all high end bows in the same class; a common mistake. The other reason they went away from it was because of the obvious, they're not as forgiving. Some may think I'm negative but I'm really not. I'm just irritated that the industry has turned the compound bow into "rocket science". It's not. It's still a very, very simple machine. Last time I checked, a corvette doesn't off-road very well. But if all I'm looking for is speed, it's sure faster than a crew-cab.

    New Bow?

Guess I'll hop on my soap box. About that youtube clip. Mind you, this is coming from someone who shoots an AR. I can't believe what I just saw. You know what that "proved" to me? A bow with a shorter brace height (a full inch I might add) just shot faster. If the guys down at PSE just figured that out, they're in for another disappointing season. I have several good friends down there and it's saddening that they may be grouped in with an advertisement like that. I'm positive they wouldn't agree with what took place. Not only did it show that they're losing in some way or another to their competition, it showed they're illiterate! Sorry, even the little things rub me the wrong way! Like I said, I shoot an AR and love the bow. I'd love to try out the Xforce. But if joe dirt down the road can hop on the 'ol magic box and prove them wrong then why couldn't an established compound bow manufacturer do the same? I don't know why this false advertising bothers me so much when it happens all of the time. I guess being honest doesn't pay the bills sometimes.

    az raffle tag buck

Incredible buck! Is transferring a tag to someone other than a child something solely with the raffle tag? Once again, amazing buck!

Giving props to the best bow

Why is the 34 below the 37? Speed? Other than a little bit slower, the 34 is much more preffered amongst shooters and hunters. As far as the "experts" go, I wonder which manufacturer gave them more free merchandise for advertisement. Maybe there's no need to wonder. Don't get me wrong, I've shot the XT quite a bit and it's a nice bow. Haven't shot the Trykon but have picked it up. That was enough to put it back down. The Tribute was nice as well. I'm also trying to figure out the need to test 135 bows and list them in order from best to worst!!!!

Giving props to the best bow

That is correct to a point. There are some bows that just may not shoot well for some people. Be it the grip, the draw or whatever else. But I thing all of the top manufactures make bows that a good shooter could win a tournament or hunt very well with. They all make great bows but Hoyt bows ROCK! LOL That was my point. I think it's funny how people jump on the band-wagon (not implying anyone specific) because the bow wins the latest tournament. Lo-and-behold, the next year, the other manufacturer picks up the shooter and he shoots just as well. Hmmmmmmm.............. You're right, it's personal preference.

    my first whitetail

There should be a "Browse" button at the bottom of the page- then just push "upload". If that doesn't work, send me the pics and I'll do it for you. BTW, Congratulations! lindseyjm@msn.com

Giving props to the best bow

I know this is all in fun but when are people going to understand that it's not the bow, it's the shooter! This is mostly in regards to Bownut's post. Once again, I know this is all in fun........

    Deer ruttin yet?

This is odd. I've spent a good amount of time in the field this December and have yet to see any rutting activity amongst our coues deer. The closest thing was a 95" buck following (not chasing) 2 does all over a mnt. side. I had the Dec tag last year and had lots of activity. Granted I had much better (more consistant) weather but what's the deal!?!?!? Oh well, maybe they'll get stupid in January when I have my bow.
  22. I don't have permission to post the 119" buck either but it's on the wall in Sportsman's so I imagine it's okay. But out of respect, I'll cut the kids face out. What an awesome buck!!! I'm sure he's at least 10years old ;o)

    bull frog mates with WT.

This picture was sent to me by a friend in Indiana. I don't remember where it was taken but apparently the buck jumped up 25 yards while the guy was walking out to his stand and it walked right towards him. I deal with some pretty nasty genetic issues and other bloddy messes every other day but this one's hard to swallow! What is this????

    Bummer

If you were lucky, they were probably scanning radio channels to find out which one you're on, listened to your radio conversations for over 2hrs and you un-knowingly talked them right into that buck and THEN they shot it. Once again, that's only if you were lucky like me!

    Ever see this?

That's funny...... Poor buck must feel violated! I'd say it's a mature buck. Congratulations, let's see pics.
