Huge congrats to your dad and you for being able to spend that quality time with dad. I remember on my last scouting trip with my dad, he had a stroke while we were out in the middle of nowhere and I was somehow able to rush him back to Tucson and convinced him to go to the hospital. It affected his walking abilities but was still at camp and walking the hills in a walker when the hunt rolled around. I managed to tag out that year and was my dads final hunt. He passed a few months later and I look back and cherish being able to spend that quality time with him.

Cool little gun, where are you located? -
Congrats on the spikes! Look at it this way, everybody has to start somewhere and you can only go up from there.

If the Sendero is still available by early next week, I'll take it, but without the scope. -
Where are you located?

Oh my!

The hunter access road off of Chavez Siding and I 19 has plenty of camp spots where you can get near others to feel safe at night. Their are plenty of deer in those hills but sometimes it feels that their are even more hunters. Best of luck!

You shouldn't worry too much about the crowds since you are hunting in December. Isn't their a very limited number of tags? Best of luck!

Hi all! Just wondering if anybody could chime in on a recent fishing report on Rainbow Lake. Heading there for the first time this weekend and want to be able to catch my own dinner at least 1 night. I checked the fishing report on AZGFD website but the report is very vague. Anything helps especially past reports and baits that work well this time of year. Thank you everyone!

Yeah, I had a guy fishing next to me and he was telling me to go to Scotts.

I just got back from my trip. I took everyone's tips and it paid off for me. I first got to Rainbow and man, the weeds are everywhere and out quite a ways. I do not have a boat so fishing from shore was the only option there for me. I was skunked out on Friday there but I did fish a bit over at Showlow Lake. I also got skunked out there too but I went back Saturday morning and only got 2 bites but I was able to hook into them and land them. Not very big but still worthy trout keepers and dinner. Went back to Rainbow and fished form shore. I used a trout power worm and a small bobber and caught a bunch of really small bass and a couple small bluegill. Was a bunch of fun and was able to end the night feeling good. Really beautiful up there and already planning the next trip up.

Keeping my fingers crossed that everyone holds off for a couple weeks so that I can pounce on this one. I want this!
