Really cool video!!

Go for it man and let us know how you did with it. I took my two biggest mulies years ago with my mini 14 and I still have a hard time convincing people that its possible. My dad also took three mulies himself and then he gave me the rifle. I now only use it to hunt javelina and it has never let me down. Best of luck to you this season!!

No need for a guide on these animals in my opinion. All these units have pigs in them and I have been successful in everyone except 29. Unit 28 has a decent population, try just north of the town of Bowie, their is a small pecan orchard there and hunt the flats there. They feed on the pecans that are on the ground and have plenty of water there all year round. They tend to be big and fat. 30a has alot of private property and haven't hunted that unit in 10+ years but they are in there. Try near Sunizona, that's where I bagged my last pig in that unit. 30b, I'd say near the town of Elfrida but west of it in the flats and also some of the hills that get the sun first in the mornings. 31, my favorite unit has pigs everywhere from the flats near all the farmland to the hills. 32 is good too but I hated having to deal with all the other hunters. Try off of Pomerene road. There is a turnoff on that road near a big wash there and we seen plenty of them there 2 years ago but had a hard time getting to them due to the thick thorny cover. Hope this helps you some and best of luck!

BEFORE YOU GO HUNT, BE SURE TO CLOSE YOUR TENT

I think the javelina was waiting for you to get in the sleeping bag for you to spoon it . -

Small world, thanks again Oso Verde. It was very nice meeting with you this afternoon and getting my tripod back. Makes me have faith in people again who have interity and class. Losing my new tripod put almost put a damper in my hunt but very glad I got it back!

Last year had the same experience in 31. Saw plenty of mulies in 2009 but 2010 was horrible. Only saw 1 doe in 5 days of hard hunting. Ran in to other hunters who had a hard time finding them too. Hunting a different unit this year for coues though.

Colorado Was Good To Me!, 5x6 191" Mule Deer

Oh my!!! Nicely done! -
I miss those hunts too! I was talking about it with my dad and his friend a couple of days ago. It really helps us focus on our hunts without having to rush to tag out and get home for work or school.

Hey vegasjeep, excellent writeup and pics. I have my hunt in late November down in 36B and I am really excited. I went on a scout a couple of weeks back and glassed up some dandy bucks. I've heard from many people that they see hundreds of deer in that unit too. Can't wait for Nov.25th.

Just got back from an all day trip to Rosey. Caught 30+ largemouth bass. Nothing too big, biggest was 18". Early morning around 7:15, fished by the marina and threw top water lures and caught a couple and then moved to a cove and found a school of bait fish on the fish finder and drop shotted a robo worm. Caught several that way. Then the bite died down and moved to the middle of the lake and did the same. From about 10:30 to noon, we caught most of our fish and then really died down. Finished off the day drop shotting by windy hill boat ramp and caught a few more. Had a blast and want to go back soon. The trick is to find bait fish, we found them in anywhere from 30-60' deep and dropped our bait. Had lots of fish hit the bait on the way down. Good luck!

Heading to Roosevelt this Friday, let you know how it goes.

My diesel is on 35x12.50 Nitto Trail Grappler M/T and am very pleased with the performance of them on and off road. Had them installed before my November deer hunt last year and was impressed with how well they grabbed the terrian. I also like the fact that they are much quieter than what I was expecting. Can't go wrong with the KO's and also the Nitto Trail Grapplers.
