Those bucks are all shooters in my book. Best of luck!!

I was out there yesterday scouting and the gates were closed but I went in anyway. When I was leaving, I read a letter that was taped to the gate. I didn't realize it was closed because of the shutdown. Hope things get fixed quick because I have the first hunt and will need to figure out a different game plan.

That's good to hear on the water situation. I am expecting it to be hot and will have plenty of drinking water in my pack.

Heading out this weekend to scout 36B myself. I hope the entire unit isn't bone dry. I also have the first hunt.

I went into Murphys a couple weeks back and they had plenty then. You might want to give them a call.

Me and my dad got ours yesterday. Both are signed and ready to get peeled and stuck on some coues antlers.

Go as much and as often as you can so that you can get to know the area a bit. It is large and you will need to come up with your plan A,B,C and so on... Tons of hunters in that unit and you will see them everywhere. It can be somewhat discouraging but be persistent and get out there early. You have lots of time from now until your hunts starts. It will be here before you know it and you will be kicking yourself if you can't seem to get to an idea on where to find deer.

East side of the Tumacacori mountains is a great place to start. This will be my third year in a row hunting this unit and that is where I started. Plenty of deer there, just try and find water. Have a good set of binos and a tripod and you will find them. Good luck!

Stockton pass area but is heavily hunted. Yes, plenty of pigs in this unit.

Yes around the dam. Drop frozen anchovies but make sure to find them on your fish finder for proper depth. You will want to chum the water with th anchovies to keep them around. Very fun to catch and tasty!

Coues Hunting in Arizona. . . questions from a beginner
Quagmire replied to bigfatbeginner's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
When I was younger and fitter, I would slowly and quietly move upwind just below the highest main ridge of a mountain on such days and toss little rocks into brushy areas at the heads of little canyons that might hide a buck, always trying to stay in position and ready to shoot whenever one jumped up below or across from me Bill, my dad taught me this same technique for both deer and javelina and yes it does work. -
Great video, congrats to all.

Love the idea. 2011 season I lost a tripod and I went to this forum to see if by any chance a fellow member found it and sure enough it was. I met him and was extremely grateful. Tried to give him some cash but refused. If it wasn't for this site, I would have had to by another expensive tripod.

** Updated with more pics ** Nice Neighborhood Buck!
Quagmire replied to PelaPapas's topic in The Campfire
Is that the buck in La Cholla airpark? I know their used to be a huge old buck in there that I had a chance to see about 3 years back. It would come up to you. All the residents there used to feed it and give it clean water. -
Bump on a great pistol, I have the same one and love it. I would have a hard time parting with it, great price.
