The morning of the hunt! Backpack loaded down, Hoyt all tuned and confidence great. I leave the truck all loaded down for the hike ahead of me. After about a mile of walking ridges im in great pig country. With the sun rising fast I see the ridge I want to sit to glass. About halfway up the ridge I hear the distinct "WOOF". At that point I know im in the pigs, I begin so scan the cactus covered hillside. As I scan I see a pig standing 15 yards from me, unable to pull my bow back I slowly unbuckle my backpack. When I take it off the pig bolts, now ready with arrow knocked. I slowly move through the cactus, I stand behind a small kreasoat bush when a pig steps out 5 FEET! Away. Unable to draw back I let him walk by with no shot. I move out from the bush to see a pig standing behind a cactus, I range the cactus 40yds. I draw my bow, he steps out quartering toward me. I settle my pin on his shoulder and release! WACK!!!! He runs 20 yards and bedded down, where he died. The next day I take a friend to the hillside. Were slowly walking fresh beds, when 3 foxes jump out. I draw back fast the fox stopped broadside, I settle my 30 yrd pin and release. WACK!! he runs 30 yrds and died. High fives and a picture we were off!
