    Advice Needed

What Amanda said, 36abc are dang fine units and deer are all over. From low cactus country to up high oak/juniper. I too have not ran in to the illegals recently like before. If he bowhunts even better like mentioned. Muleys and Whiteys ruttin is dang fun in DEC/Jan compared to feets of snow on the ground back there. Could possibly get a stinkpig tag for Jan too.

    36c november tag

My advice too you is to get away from the roads. Elkhorn ranch is ok for a base camp but an absolute zoo with tons of hunters and campers. I've hunted this unit for 24 years now, and it's just as good now as in the old days. Find some nice country where you can hike into and start from there. Again no roads. Kings Anvil is a large ranch with ample areas. The only thing is no OTVs and no wood cutting allowed. We have the Thanksgiving hunt and we started scouting two weeks ago. As far as an AR for a rifle. 10-5 years ago it was loaded with UDAs. But have'nt seen em there in 5 years. No trash just bottles every now and then. Does'nt mean there not there, but we feel safe. Last year we had the opener hunt and I'll never hunt it again. We killed rattlers every morning and afternoon, so if it's hot watch out. The grass is'nt as high as last year but stepping on sponge and hearing rattles in high grass is not for us. Like I said, Get away from the roads, and you'll love this unit. Hint(ocotillo slopes).

    unit 36c

Hello, everyone new to the forum but not new to deer hunting. I have the early hunt and We can't believe the amount of spikes and forks that we're finding around. This unit is loaded with young bucks, if they the survive these next few yrs it just will get better and better. Never seen any UDA's or Smugglers either. Not a whole lotta trash, (a water bottle) every now and then, but nothing like the Silverbells on the quail opener trash, backpacks, and clothes. Biggest buck spotted but not able to connect on 85" inch 3x4. Spikes and forks, stopped counting at 15. Rainfall has got to be a major factor last year and this summer. Funniest thing was most of the little guys would act like muleys, and try and stare you down. Not run or flag and just meander away. 4 more days and hope we can find something with some size. Good luck to everyone!
