Is it raining where you live?
grizzly replied to aztrophytakers's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Living in Mesa, I do not know what this "rain" is of which you speak, but I do beleive we are being attacked by the heavans. -
I used to go watch them play in high school. Back when Mike Kelley was roaming center field. That dude could HIT!

Nothing wrong with a Whisker Biscuit, but after shooting a well tuned drop away you probably wont go back. I have used the Mathews convertible and the Trophy Taker and then I found Ripcord. Have had Ripcord on my last 6 bows. Full containment, you can hold the arrow in the up position before draw. Have never had to use their customer service but I have heard only good things about it from those who have. I will likely have it on my next 6 bows as well.

Saw the infamous tailgating white Tahoe today (sat) driving near Gilbert and Guadalupe. I passed you and tried to wave but you were on the phone. I was driving an old red Dodge diesel with a sticker.

Stainless barrel, synthetic stock, its a Weatherby. $800.00

In response to Jamaro, there is absolutely no "twangy" on this sight. The previous years model, the ME has been accused of that. I have never tried it and therefore cant comment on it but the XR just rocks.

I think it must have been a slaughter during the fall when the pigs were easy to find over water. Dont know why else they would get rid of a revenue stream like that. The proposed regs showed that there would at least be a juniors hunt but there is nothing in the official regs about it.

I have the G5 sight, as does my brother, and it is AWESOME! This is an unpaid endorsement, I paid full price just like anyone else would have to do and I get nothing for telling you this. This is the first actual innovation I have seen in a sight ever, probably since they made multiple pin sights. All of the other sights are basically fixed pins that are adjusted to a fixed position through whatever manner is used. This sight though has one pin that adjusts independantly of the other three. With a small turn of the knob it rotates down from top position (60 yards for me) to the bottom position (100 yards). Thus you have the benefits of a 7 or more pin sight but dont have the cluttered sight window that comes along with it not to mention the confusion of being at full draw and trying to remember if green is 60 or 70. I honestly beleive that in the next year everyone will own this sight. There is also a full review by David Long in this months Eastmans Bowhunting Journal.

Need Your Honest Opinions
grizzly replied to SouthernCouesHunter's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
I shoot a Mathews DrenalinLD, I have owned 6 Mathews and 2 Hoyts in the last 9 years and am a huge Mathews fan. That being said the new PSEs are amazing. My brother has the Dream Season, last years model and has just recently started out shooting me for the first time ever. If I were to switch to another bow I think that would be it. -
Superior Bowhunters "oak Flats" 3-D Archery shoot
grizzly replied to Grey Hawk's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Had a great time. Fun shoot, good target setups, got to meet Greyhawk. Didnt shoot so well but I did get to see the low speed chase of the guy in the tow truck. We got pulled over just outside of Superior and the cop made us get out and duck behind our truck, said the guy was armed and dangerous. That truck was on both rims in front and still made it to Globe. They ended up tasering and catching him almost a full hour after I saw him. Oh and those tamale and egg breakfast burrritos were every bit as good as the hype. -
Just had it tuned, it is 60 lb and shooting darts.

QAD drop away rest didn't work for my Mathews
grizzly replied to hawkeye's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
I love the Ripcord. I have put it on my last 6 bows, including an LX. -
Doing some research I realize I am a little high on the price, will take $500 set up or $350 bare.

Superior Bowhunters "oak Flats" 3-D Archery shoot
grizzly replied to Grey Hawk's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Hey greyhawk, my brother and I are definitely coming. Is there a way to pre-register or is it best to do it there? What time does the shoot start? What other details do I need to know? Thanks, Randy. -
New Rigs??? Archery season is coming!
grizzly replied to Coues 'n' Sheep's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Im sticking with my Mathew Drenalin LD this year, but I did just put on a new XR sight by G5. Great sight and I have been looking for something like this for years. It is a 4 pin sight, the top 3 pins are fixed and the bottom one adjusts easily and independantly of the other 3. I have mine set at 25,40,50 and the bottom one is at 60 but rotates out to 100. -

Bownut I sent you a pm. -
So my brother and I are planning on making a day trip up to the range in Superior from Mesa in the next few weeks. Just wanting to hear how it compares to Usery Pass. We are also planning a trip to Flag when it gets hot to shoot up there for a day. Anyone know of any other outdoor ranges that would be worth making a trip to?

What does it take to become a member? I have a brother who lives up there and keeps telling me about an awesome range that he shoots at, not sure which one it is.

What's your thoughts on this?
grizzly replied to Huntaholic's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Serves you right for letting your wife steal my tag. Maybe next year you stay out of the draw and I get a tag. -
Be very careful with those OTC tags, they are for very small and defined areas within a unit and I know of several people who have been nailed for chasing an elk over the wrong fence.

I found a link on another site to a ranch in Tx called the Bar E. Most reasonably priced one I have seen. Hunting packages start at $350 for a two day hunt including one sheep and two hogs. Try bareranches.com it is bowhunting only.

Love to see Saturday shoots, I will definitely try to make it. Is there a regular range or course there or is this a special setup?
