Alright, Man cards out and on the table right now, all of you. As for me, Ted Nugent is hunting music. Nothing like a little Fred Bear followed by Stranglehold.

Yeah thats the review I found. There are some on ebay for sale new.

These look like an affordable option to the Leica Duovids. Tried doing a research for any reviews but havent found anything other than some birder website where the guy loved them. Looking for some feedback from hunters. I am a big Minox fan, I think they give the best quality for the price point that you can find. They come in a 8-14 and a 10-15 power. http://gadgets.softpedia.com/gadgets/Optic...ulars-3395.html

What do you wear on your feet for a stalk?
grizzly replied to couesarcher's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
I have used the felt soles before but they attach with velcro and they dont stow away very easily. A few years ago I picked up a pair of Baers Feet, they are a fleece covering with a drawstring at the top. They fold up and fit in the side pocket of my pack where they are easily accessible when needed, silent to put them on and I have never gotten a cactus or lost a pair of boots since buying these, (yes I did lose a pair of boots once.) -
I have the G5 XR on both of my bows. Both are sighted in from 25-100 yards. My top 3 pins are 25, 40, 50 and the rover pin sits at 60. Perfect for hunting situations. There arent many shots I would take over 60 yards, but I love being able to group at 100 at the range.

Dont they have the Minox at the Outdoorsman? Thats where I got mine about 5 years ago, when my Steiner 25s werent enough glass in the middle of the season and cameraland was a week out from having them in stock.

It could be the arrows themselves. When I first switched to carbons I shot some Blackhawks, that were an ACC knockoff, and gave up after a couple weeks. Went back to aluminum for a while, then tried some carbon express arrows that shot really well for me.

Sold. Thanks, guys.

Bought several years ago, used on one hunt so far. I just dont use it because I mostly archery hunt and have a little Bushnell that is lighter and cheaper and Im not worried about scratching or getting dirty. I guarantee you cant tell this from new, just replaced battery and ranged everything on my street, works great. $400 obo. 480-695-7401, or grizzlyplumbing@yahoo.com, Randy.

I hate that it has happened, but I will admit they have beat me. I hunt solo and refuse to hunt the southern units anymore. I have been driven from my own land by enemy invaders. Thank you George W and Obama! RON PAUL FOR PRES!!!

Need someone with pack horses near Happy Jack
grizzly posted a topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
My buddy has the early bull tag for 5B south, Sep 11 tp 25. He is looking for someone with pack horses who can pack out a bull when he shoots it. Anybody have some in the area or know of someone? -
Recorded it earlier this week but just barely watched it last night, good hunt in southern New Mexico. Thought it may have been one of the best depictions of what a coues hunt is that I have seen broadcast. For those interested it will re-air Saturday the 25th on Outdoor Channel at 530 pm. Definitely worth setting your DVR.

I have a buddy who is wanting a set of the Swaro Bigeyes from SWFA. He wants to hear some feedback on them before he lays down that kind of money. Anybody here have them or use them before?

Thank you jamaro for finally telling me what makes epeks different than any other mechanical. I have made numerous inquiries on different sites and nobody says anything different. They do look a little like the Piston Point Undertakers that I just picked up to try this season. I think you just put epeks on my list to shoot in the future.

The Kowas are what he was looking at when he found the bigeyes. Do you know what it was that your friends didnt like?

The problem with knowing a bow is out of tune is that it usually happens so slowly that its impossible to tell. That is why there are the rules of thumb, such as new string every two years. I personally have a Bucknasty and it is every bit as good as the Winners Choice I have used in the past but I got it for $70 instead of the $130 that WC are up to now. I guess having all of the hunting "celebrities" on the payroll raises your prices, but dont think it raises your quality.
-
I believe the official decision was: dont ask dont tell.

If I am not mistaken it is illegal to sell game meat, so can we assume that the meat is farm raised? Nothing I like better than a good buffalo burger so I will certainly be making the trip soon. I just wish it had been there a few years ago when I was going to QC to work every other day or so, I would have made you rich!
-
If you go to the Sims Limbsaver website there is a slow-mo video of shooting with or without a loop, big difference in how the arrow slides down the string without a loop. Definitely sold me on a loop.

As far as bow selection I bought my wife a Martin Leopard and she is in love with it. I got it for her in midnite blue, because it matches her cell phone. She hasnt expressed a desire to hunt but maybe someday. It does make it fun at the range when she comes.

Never used the Stinger but I have a 10" Posten woodsman II and I love it. I am amazed at how it actually holds the bow still for me, there is also an elastomer insert that deadens vibration every bit as much as the S coil I used to have. I am actually planning on getting an 8" for my other bow, just to be a little bit more maneuverable.
-
The 10" Woodsman II is what I currently have, the only difference from the original woodsman is the camo dip paint job. This is the first real stabilizer I have ever used, I shot the sims s-coil on all my bows for the last 8 years or so. I tried this one out after reading about what a difference they make on archerytalk.com, and all I can say is Im a believer. The theory behind it is that the further you put the weight from the bow the more difficult it is to torque the bow on the shot, one of Newtons laws. I used to take 3-4 seconds to pull a shot from the time I came to full draw, with this stabilizer I have found that I have to hold the shot for about 6-8 seconds and once that pin settles on the mark it doesnt move. The removable weights on the Posten are nice because you can customize the feel of your bow by getting the weight exactly the way you want it. The very first time I shot with it on my bow I beat my personal best at the Usery 3-D range so for me the results were almost instantaneous.

check out jimposten.com. He makes custom stabilizers, I got the 10" woodsman II, and plan to get an 8" for my other bow. They are great stabilizers with adjustable weights on the end and an elastomer inside to add shock absorption.

Put me down for a definite maybe. Ive got some things to do in the morning but would like to be there, look for an old red diesel Dodge with a cwt sticker.

Yeah thats a good question. Lets see just how secretive people really are.
