I started wearing ASAT, got me a leafy suit for bowhunting. It is scary how good this stuff is. http://asatcamo.com/

I have heard Jed Larson does a great set of strings in ShowLow but never could get ahold of him when I was getting set up. Ended up ordering a set from Bucknasty on archerytalk.com, every bit as good as the Winners Choice I have had in the past at about half the price. Guess all of those pros on the payroll raises your overhead something fierce.

How to tell the model year of a Mathews Bow
grizzly replied to azbiggamehunter's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
There are discussion forums at mathewsinc.com. I think the Switchback was only made for one year before it was replaced by the XT, 06 if I am not mistaken. -
Your brush with greatness! I saw that episode and watching that long shot with a recurve, the arrow seemed to stay in flight forever, then made a perfect hit. One of the coolest impact shots Ive ever seen on TV.

I have wanted to meet Randy Ulmer for a long time. Where in Payson is it? Just general directions coming up from Mesa, turn right at McD's, go straight, what side of the road.

Looks like my brothers bengal cat. I met a guy who swears he saw a jaguarundi in az, not at liberty to say where, but he is a taxidermist and is credible enough that game and fish are now trying to get pics of it to verify. Never know what you are gonna see when you go to the mountains in az.

I know I have seen a post on this somewhere, about a ranch near Cordes Junction or Prescott that offers different hunts. Cant find the info when I need it. Anyone have a link to a website or any info?

This one should work great.

Thanks Tony, thats the one.

Very cool, is that the state championships? To be played in a venue like that it must be something special. Is it on local tv anywhere?

Camo Dream Season, goes to about 62 lb max. All set up and ready to shoot. Has Sims S-Coil stabilizer, Cobra sight with 6 pins, NAP Quik-tune drop away rest and STS string stopper. Currently at a 31" draw, also have draw mods for 26. Let me know your draw length and I will set it up to your preference (adjustable from 26-31") Located in east Mesa, set up to shoot at my house so come by and try it out before you decide to buy, you wont be dissapointed. $550 or would consider trade for an XD, Kimber, or Sig Sauer in 9 mm. Let me just say this boat is legit. My buddy has one and we have hiked it in to several hard to get to lakes for some great alone time fishing on the water. This is a great deal.

Yes it is still available. I thought I had it sold to flyphsr who brought his wife to shoot it, turns out it only goes as low as a 27" draw, not a 26, so somebody else will be lucky enough to get a crack at this great bow.

This is a direct quote from jimposten.com, who makes custom stabilizers widely considered as the best, regarding the purpose of stabilizers. Unfortunately most people dont shoot well enough or often enough to tell the difference between a small rubber stabilizer and a long weight-suspended, rigid stabilizer. Pin movement is resisted using the reduced leverage your bow hand has on moving the weight at the end of the bar. I am sure you are all familiar with Newton’s first law of motion “objects at rest tend to stay at rest”. Unless acted upon by an outside force. The mass weight on the end of the bar has to be forced to move. The length of the bar reduces the leverage your bow hand has on moving the weight. With the correct system, sudden deliberate movements become difficult, which translates to an even better resistance to subtle, unintentional movement. (A steadier pin) This is why I feel that a true stabilizer should be rigid. If it flexes, it allows small movements, and though it may create balance, it no longer effectively resists movement.

Wow 2 coues hunting shows on!
grizzly replied to Jeremy350's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
Recorded the Backland Experiences from GAC, the country music channel, and just watched it. Features Duwane Adams, very cool. The guy sits in a blind for a solid week, misses his one shot, and has a couple more deer scared off by a guy on a quad. Oops, sorry if I spoiled it for everyone. -
Nice Coues Racks on eBay
grizzly replied to huntscout's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
Its technically illegal to buy or sell antlers. There was a post on archerytalk where a guy sold his mounts on craigslist and it was a sting, got busted for it. Not saying this is the case but buyer beware. -
I havent seen this mentioned on here so I may be the first to review the new archery range. It is located in the city park that was just built on a landfill on McQueen and Ocotillo. First its free so how bad can it be? There are currently only 6 targets in place, from 10-60 yards. There are an additional 12-15 lanes unused and enough room to stretch it out to 100 yards, but you would have to bring your own target. All of the shooting positions are in lanes from left to right. The targets there are nice, big, bag style with fairly easy removal, although the 1 shot I took at the 10 yard target didnt want to come out. My biggest complaint is that it sits up on a hill with nothing to block the wind, no trees or bushes or anything, so it will probably be good on a calm day but I was being blown around by a not-so-strong wind. My opinion, if you live in the area it will nice to have a free place to shoot, but not worth the drive I made from North East Mesa.

I have the Just One and the Slingshot. Both great packs, but the Slingshot ended up being much smaller than I anticipated. Hard to get enough gear in there for a full day, and the top part of the pack that comes off had to go, it was very restrictive to movement. Wish I had gone with the X1 or X2.

Anybody who plays at Big League Dreams in Gilbert should look at this bat seriously. Legal there and a great bat.

Thanks for all your help guys, I had multiple responses which put us in some good areas where the pigs are obviously traveling. Unfortunately we didnt see any but had a great time. Thank you guys again for stepping up for somebody who has been there for us and may soon be going back.

I am just getting a friend into hunting, he is a veteran back from Afghanistan and has a pig tag for 37B. We were out all weekend and got dumped on and saw no pigs, today is our last shot at it and I am hoping someone who was out there recently could point me in the right direction. I dont have a tag, only my friend, and we are planning (tentatively) to be off of the Cochran road glassing all afternoon. If someone has some info they would be willing to give me please call my cell phone 480-695-7401, lets get this veteran hooked on hunting. Thanks, Randy.

I have to sell one of my two bows, so whichever goes first I will keep the other. First is a Mathews Drenalin LD, 31" draw, 70 lb limbs, Ripcord dropaway rest, one piece Fuze Ventera Lite quiver. $550. Second is a Bowtech 101st Airborne, 60 lb limbs, draw mods for 30", 31", or 31.5". Ripcord dropaway rest, 2 piece Octane quiver. $500. I have a Cobra 5 pin sight that I will include with whichever of the bows that sells. I live in Mesa, Greenfield and Brown, so if you want to come by and shoot one or both I am set up to shoot in the backyard and am home mostly mid days. 480-695-7401. Randy, grizzlyplumbing@yahoo.com
