I went to the show Friday and was very pleased that there were not nearly as many people as the Saturday shows I have gone to before. I saw Chuck Adams and Cameron Hanes seminars. Chucks was more of an entertaining show, Camerons was very informative. I would recomend both to those of you going this weekend. I also got to talk to both of them before the seminars as they are in different booths to meet people. I had my camera to get my picture taken with them but they were both so friendly and accessible I felt silly even asking and settled for a handshake.

Its those dang folks at couesdeer.com, they are jealous that we are number one and want to bring us down.

WOW! I guess its official then. Three cheers for common sense! I am glad to see the G&F finally do the right thing in regards to this issue. Anyone who has shot a handgun extensively knows that the effective range of a gun such as that described is less than a decent compound bow. I just hope now that some clown doesnt ruin it for the rest of us by trying to shoot a deer 'in self defense' with his pistol.

Yesterday I realized that 8 months without another chance to hunt is a loooong time. So about noon I grabbed my bow and ditched out of work. I made the drive down to 37B to an area where I had seen pigs and had missed a 35 yard shot a couple weeks ago. It took several hours to find them but at about 5:30 I stumbled into them (or they stumbled into me). I had two pigs at 20 yards broadside and was drawn back on them but one was directly behind the other so I waited for a clear shot. They both turned away from me and gave me the moon, I continued to hold. The pig on the right turned just enough to give me a hard angle on a quartering away shot and I released. The pig jumped at the sound and the arrow missed along its side. Needless to say I was in a hurry going down there and forgot my call so I could only watch helplessly as they ran away. So its tag soup again and all I can think about is how many times I have read or heard of someone missing a slam dunk shot and thought "how can you miss that? I could hit that every time." Well I guess I was wrong. Oh well, the same old mantra, theres always next year.

I just talked to my buddy who appears on this video and he sent me some pics of the bucks they killed this year that will be on the next edition of the video, there are some real toads.

hey couesarcher I have been out pig hunting in that same area and will be out again in the next week. If I see anything I will let you know. I am hunting between the 96 hills and the Box O.

I also turn purple when I am under stress. Usually happens when I am dry.

It is a good video, I met the outfitter that put it on through a mutual friend and got an advanced copy. The elk footage is amazing. Good deer footage as well.

I finally got a shot yesterday in 37B. I was sitting on a water hole when a single porker came in. I shifted a little bit to get in position for a shot and he scooted around a palo verde and went back the other direction. Then he heard me draw and started to trot, just as I shot at 35 yards and missed.

when you practice do you shoot at a bale or a 3D target? If you shoot a deer everytime you pull back your bow it will be easier to imagine success when the deer is real.

I not only havent seen a sticker on another truck but I never got my sticker. Maybe I forgot to put my address on my paypal email. I will have to try again. I travel the 101 very frequently in my plumbing truck, a longbed kingcab Chevy with a Mathews sticker on the rear window. I will continue looking for you guys and give a honk and (five finger) wave.

I have been working in north Scottsdale recently and on the way home I drove down Dynamite road and made a detour south down 128th st. where I saw two bucks about 4 years ago. Alot of the land around there is being developed. I saw a sign at the border of the preserve that said (in part)No discharge of weapons but nothing that said No Hunting. I am wondering if it would be legal and/or permissable to archery hunt in this area, anyone have any idea?

spent all day saturday scouting 37b and all day monday hunting it, didnt see a thing.

these guys are really good. I have one of their videos that a friend gave me, not sure if its this one or not but they get some great footage of deer both here and in Mexico and some unbelievable archery elk footage. very professionally done too.
