I just realized that I have my javalina tag but not my hunting license, wanted to buy a deer tag for Monday. Anyone else get a tag but not a license?
-
I too have had them crawl out of rabbits. I was intending to eat the bunnies but freaked and threw them in the trash.
-
Same tag I got, mine just showed up in the mail on Saturday, I had my application in on Monday morning the day they were available. Used all of my points but it was worth it. You can call G&F if you are wondering and they will tell you if you got it or not.

Its been closed since summer. I think its because of the fires, but then I would have assumed they would open it by now. I planned on putting a trailcam in there this last summer but was unable and have driven up there several times since with no luck. It is a shame, that was the first place I ever got a shot at a deer, about 15 years ago with my bow at a little forkin muley.

Used to have a SQ2, still have my Q2XL, great bows, you wont be disapointed. These can be picked up fairly cheaply now with all of the new high-dollar bows out and I expect alot of people who are shooting older bows will be moving up soon.

Blacktails Part II
grizzly replied to DEERSLAM's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
I would still get the job done with only one leg, so as long as hes not passing any 3-legged genes around then he is good to go in my book. -
I actually enjoyed the show. While you are right RR about the fill-in time, at least nobody sat in an elevated box watching the plowed roads where corn has been scattered like 90% of the hunting shows on.

Pope & Young top 5 typical & atypical

Next weeks poll: who wants a million dollars? This should be close. -
I dont have a problem with it at all. As long as it is done within the law. Its not like he is using it to round up deer, he is using it to find the caliber of deer he wants to pursue. If anyone thinks it is easy taking a monster deer just because you see it from the air then you are delusional. You cant use a plane within a certain time before a hunt and just finding the home range of a big buck is far from a sure thing, weve all seen big bucks we wanted to pursue later and had them disappear when hunting season comes around. Everyone here needs to get off your high horse, Randy Ulmer and Chuck Adams have always acted within the law (as far as we know)and until I see one of them convicted for something then you are all just jealous little people who have to knock down the guys on top. My hat is off to both of them.

The only transferable warranty that I know of is Zeiss, which makes a point of stating that the warranty is transferable. guess you better stay friends with the guy you bought them from.
-
do you process it yourself? I have found that even deer taste better when I process it myself rather than take it to someone else.

If you buy a bare bow and need accessories then go to WalMart, they are about to start the yearly clearance of their archery stuff. I went to Colorado last week and my father-in-law had bought a used PSE and wanted to get into shooting, I set him up with all accessories including 4 arrows for about $55.

Red Chevy, on the I-10 westbound got on 101 North, also had two deer skull stickers on back window. Always cool to see a board brother, I tried to signal from my red dodge plumbing truck that I havent yet put stickers on.
-
didnt you just spend the whole summer in alaska? that would be something if someone recognized a sticker up there!
-
that is funny! where else could they put another dampner? I just bought the switchback LD, sold my switchback XT because it didnt fit quite right, I got a 31" and cant believe how smooth and comfortable it is to have a bow that fits, I have always shot 30" bows because they are more available.
-
My favorite is you can lead a horse to drink but you cant make him water.
-
that was the time, I was running late for work, I gotta get me a sticker too.

I know the easy answer when you pass through a closed gate you close it again. What do you do when you go through a gate that is open? Do you assume that it is supposed to be open and leave it or do you assume that some sloppy person left it open and shut it? What if it is a gate that has been closed in the past and is now left hanging open? This is an issue I have wondered on before and have just always left it the way I found it, but I have heard of ranchers closing areas because of thoughtless hunters or others who neglect the gates. Maybe some of the ranchers or those with ranching experience could chime in on this one.

went and picked up my camera today, about an hour each way, no deer though after a month, so Im looking for a new spot. hopefully a little closer.

Suggestions for tripod mounted pistol grip gyro
grizzly replied to royerj1's topic in Optics and tripods
I like the pistol grip because it can go to 90 degrees and become a rest to shoot off of. One tip to avoid the herky-jerky motion is to tie a bandanna around the grip that holds it in a little, it will move very smoothly that way. -
how bout a few less pics of the deer and a few more of the dear?

thats some funky 3D camo hes got on there.

Alright time to change your screen name! 50 yards is a long shot, I wouldnt take a shot at an animal any farther than that. If you feel like you need to shoot farther then maybe look at the bow you are shooting now, is it an older bow? Many of the newer ones are incredibly accurate to longer distances. I have a 7 pin sight on mine and routinely practice out to 80 yards.

wow, do they count spread on an antelope? If so then this one is definitely a Booner.
