Jim Ammons is an outstanding choice to be our new commissioner ! I have known him a long time and he is a great leader and a good man. He will serve our state well and be a great steward our wildlife! We should all let Governor Brewer know she made a very good appointment that she will be proud of as he takes office!

Thanks to all of you I am so excited!!!have been going into the unit starting back in June in anticipation of being drawn!! It has been a long time to wait to be drawn but now comes the fun part of all the planning, scouting and the whole experience that we all love so much!! -
Lv2hnt one of my good hunting buddies has the other tag in the Gilas, if young want to talk with him at some point get hold of me and I will give you his contact info. Did you draw with max bonus points like I did? My buddy drew in the Gilas as his second choice!
-
Sorry guys I never said what area I drew but it is 40 B the Mohawks and coppers. Also I did have max bonus points. The north end of area is about 9 miles from my front door as the crow flies so its very close to home! I know the area well as my best friend had a tag there last year and got a nice ram. If anyone knows who the other two tag holders are I would like to talk with them.

I believe all the individuals that went to the Commission meeting Friday should be new GREEN members! Gerorge Reiners, Allen Taylor, Bruce Johnson, Terry Herndon and Steve Clark. I was watching online and these Sportsman did a fantastic job representing the opposition we all have for 2072 and anything that resembles it!!! They took personal time from their business and work to go testify . Great job guys and thank you so much!!!! In order to defeat AZSFW however we all need to tell at least four people that are not vocal in opposing this and get them to start talking and e mailing legislators!!! We also need to EMPOWER them to get four more and on and on, we must have large numbers of people speaking up! Please let's all help to empower more and more so we can win this battle!! Suzanne and her group are beating on the doors of the legislature every day and spreading the lies about what 2072 will do for Arizona! We must get more people to be vocal and stop the nonsense of the bill and eliminate AZSFW and AZSFWC!! Now is the time and I fear this week could be pivotal in the battle we are fighting!! Past Commission Chair Robbie Woodhouse

BPJ I believe from your post quizzing 40 Year Az Hunter about whether he is member of any organizations or has ever worked on any banquets is disturbing. One has to assume that you are insinuating that unless a person has done these things they are of less stature as a hunter or wildlife conservationist in this state than you are!!! This is very wrong BPJ. Just because you may have done these things does not make you any better or any more qualified to have opinions on any issue. I do remember 40 year Az Hunter coming to Commission meetings during my term and speaking to the Commission, he is a good man and always had good comments he brought to us. I have a respect for him as an Arizonan who has concerns! He and many others who have made comments since 2072 was dropped are some of the silent majority that Chairman Freeman has talked about at Commission meetings many times! BPJ the silent majority is entitled to be heard even though they may not meet your criteria of being qualified. I know you do not believe the silent majority is out there because of meetings with you and others with you who basically blow off what Chair Freeman says about the silent majority. Well some of them are asking you questions and you still fail to answer them! A good debate is always good but all debaters should reindeer in a truthful manner but you still continue to not answer questions and treat folks in disrespectful ways! Shame on you!!! Personally I subscribe to Chair Freeman's way of doing things that ALL citizens are qualified to express their concerns and should be treated with respect!!

Yes Bonus Point John Kolezar I am recently retired Chairman of the Commission Robbie Woodhouse. In your reply on Jan.18 to my post you made some statements that I need to reply to with the correct information for the benefit of all who have been involved in opposing 2072. The first being no one on Jan. 18 other than you had said the bill was dead, that is anyone with any official status namely Rep. Weires. BPJ were you authorized by Rep. Weires to speak on his behalf? I doubt that to be true! I believe from your post you think that George Reiners from YVRGC came begging for the help of AZSFW!! NOT true at all! He did go to AZSFW to find out why they were not doing anything to promote Prop. 109. As a representative for our club he needed to know why SFW was not speaking for the sportsman and the Yuma club because after all is that not why clubs all over Arizona were sending money to SFW to stand up and represent them on issues??? Mr. Reiners had at that point already designed and had printed bumper stickers and buttons promoting 109 at his OWN expense!! Guess what BPJ after Mr. Reiners going to SFW they did make an effort to support 109! The Yuma Club is entering their 76th year and they HAVE lead and accomplished many things both in the field ( water projects) and over all those years many things at the legislature without any assistance from anyone that you have mentioned!!! This Club is made up of dedicated hard working Arizonans who are passionate about wildlife! I am proud to be a member. I am so proud of the sportsmen/women of this state for their loud voice on this ill conceived piece of legislation that others were trying to sneak by and cram down our throats. I was still the Chair of the Commission at the time and had more people contact me than I had received on other issues and they were unanimous in opposing 2072! Not even one person in support! I called a special telephonic Commission meeting and as we all know the vote was 5-0 with a very strong motion of opposition. The people spoke, the Commission heard them and collectively we defeated the bill for the time being. This is the way the system is supposed to work! I am proud that sportsman/women have realized that they were paying a lot of hard earned money to SFW and really had NO idea what was being said or proposed on their behalf. Obviously once they found out what was going on they realized was nothing that represented their best interests! I have seen this happen many times during my term on the Commission. Recently when the Commission was setting new hunt guidelines on Deer we heard a floor change recommended by your organization BPJ the Arizona Deer Association. the folks presenting it told us it was a proposed change created by the executive committee. The ADA change was In fact adopted by the Commission on a 3-2 vote. I believe when the total membership understands this change will mean fewer deer tags in the future they will not be happy. Does your whole membership vote on who is the President? Maybe you should worry if they do! At the same meeting Randy Phillips spoke on behalf of the Arizona Bowhunters Association and made comment on the guideline package but he started out by saying they had polled the membership before speaking!! Way to go Randy you truly represent your members. Lastly and most important to me personally BPJ you have questioned my honesty!!! I believe I have a stellar record of always being honest and telling the truth!! People like you like to say others are not telling the truth when someone does not agree with them. I have nearly 35 years of public service on school boards, agriculture related boards and of course the Commission. I am very proud of my years of service and have always worked hard to serve my constituents. I am proud of accomplishments the Commission has made as a team during my term. We have a good Commision and Department in Arizona that we should all be proud of because they don't only listen to special interest groups but value the I put of the silent majority that spoke loudly these last few days!

What does Weires not understand about the strong no tags statement the sportsman and the Commission sent to him?????? The way I read this statement from him I believe we will be seeing a new version of 2072 soon. I also believe he and Suzanne have a damage control plan to try and minimize the political damage they both have self inflicted themselves during this attempted hijacking of these tags! She will meet with a FEW of the critter group representatives she knows are her supporters and then tell Weires that the sportsman support whatever she says! She has done it before and certainly will do it again!! I believe now is the time for all sportsman to have their groups follow the lead of Yuma Valley Rod and Gun Club and no longer be an affiliate of Arizona Sportsman for Wildlife or any other organization that Gilstrap has anything to do with! People on this website I believe have given Weires a little respect as to his future in Arizona politics but he needs to give us respect for our strong about no hijacking of these tags. If he wants to continue with this when he received such an overwhelming no then someone needs to tell him his political future will be in jeopardy !!!! BPJ had posted last Thursday about noon that Weires had pulled the bill and that AZGFD had been notified that 2072 was dead!!! People this was a total lie, I talked to folks yesterday (Jan 17) in the morning and they still at that time had received NO notice of what Weires intent was for 2072!!!!! It is clear to me that BPJ is only the mouthpiece for Suzanne and Weires since his post calmed us all down for a bit and gave Suzanne and Weires time to start damage control. with the statement we saw earlier from Weires we now see their plan restarting. Now is the time to encourage all affiliates to resign their organizations from Suzanne and to respectfully let Weires know he needs to focus his attention to other polical matters that are important to all Arizonans !

The groups that auction tags now do profit from having these tags because they advertise they have them and get better attendance at banquet because of that fact! Bonusjohn avoids answering all the questions for the same reason ther was so much secrecy with this bill, he is an insider at AZSFW!!!! No transparency at all because they know we will all object to there self serving bill that sells tags that belong to the citizens of the state and would pack their bank account with millions of $!!!
