Good things come to those who wait !!!
Bryan Burkhead14 replied to Bryan Burkhead14's topic in Shed Hunting
No, I couldn't tell how he died my guess is he was hit in November and never found. He sure hadn't been there to long though his horns aren't bleached and he wasn't chewed up . Ya he must of been a fighting fool cause he is pretty busted up . My buddy and I ran a rough tape on him and came out with 322 . Probably a 340 class bull if he wasn't broke off so much. No matter the score though best find for me so far. -

Count them in the score, not when your telling your buddy's what you got. That's the way I have always done it a 3x3 with eye guards is still a 3x3 whitetail or muley. My dad killed a 128'' coues in 1991 that had giant eye guards . One was 5" and the other was 5 and a half inches that split into two. Growing up he never counted them only in the score.

I think if they dropped the permit numbers and if more people predator hunted it would increase deer herd sizes drastically' also some units are allowed to many tags in my opinion. Gas is high ammunition is high , everything is so expensive especially feeding all them lion dogs nobody can afford to do it anymore. I think predators are the number one reason for the declining deer numbers.

Thanks guys for the info. I have heard that some people liked them and some didn't . Coues Sniper let me know how much you want for the doubler and i might be able to take it off your hands.

Would like to know if anyone has used a doubler for the 15x56 swaro's and if anybody likes them. Thinking bout getting one, just want to know if they are worth the money. Thanks

I have a remington model 700 bdl that my dad bought me when I was 16 and I love it. I have killed both mule deer and coues with it. I shoot it a lot and feel very comfortable shooting it at long distances. The .270 is a very flat shooting gun. The longest shot I have taken with it was at 524 yards on a 3x3 coues. The .270 is my favorite deer rifle.

Went with my cousin down to 36B this year. It was the first time i have ever been down there. Beautiful country down there. We pulled in on Friday and the wind was horrible. Had a good time glassed up alot of coues one good buck just couldnt get a shot at him. Saw alot of people, so we tried to get away from them by hiking our butts off just didnt see any more bucks. One thing that totally blew me away was the fact that a few people were actually shooting in camp. I couldn't believe that was happening, especially when the hill they were shooting towards was crawling with hunters that morning. We just put the swaro's up and headed back to the truck after hearing the ten gun shots and glassing up there target they were shooting at. So that led us to exploring new country, which wasn't a bad thing cause i got a shed out of it.
